I would think that would be too soon. I am having a band removal/GS done in the morning...when i got my band on a Thursday I was back at work the following Tuesday but slow moving (desk job) and tired. This time I will not be returning for seven days.

I had my surgery the Monday of Thanksgiving week. I went back yo work the following Monday with no problem. I was exhausted that first week back. I would not have been able to go back after just three days - too tired & wasn't cleared for driving...oh I do have a desk job.

Oh the 3rd day was probably one of my worst days. I actually had to spend 4 nights in the hospital I was so sick. I wouldn't chance it. Everyone's experience is different. Good luck to you!!

Has anyone had their surgery on a Friday and been able to go back to work the following Monday? I have a desk job.

I have a desk job as well. My surgery was on Tuesday the 16th and I went back to work on Saturday the 20th. I found that lots of walking helps with the gas pain. Other than that i have not experienced pain. Once ny pain pump was out i did not take any of the prescribed pain mess from my Dr. Overall, i think i have had a very easy transition. I just have to get used to my new stomach.

My surgery was last wends and I plan on going back to work tomorrow, less than 7 days out but i timed it so that I could use my sick days in conjunction with the weekend. I am keeping the surgery a secret because people at my job are so mean and unsupportive. I have techniques that i will use to get up from my desk every hour to move. I am not in pain so i think I will be ok....

I plan on doing the same thing you are doing in terms of returning to work. My surgery is not until the end of May but I want to know how you do going back within a week. Good luck.

Today was amazing! I feel really good,a lot of energy.I brought in a floor bike weeks ago and put it under my desk so I can simulate walking every hour. I have been busy but was able to get 32 oz of Water in! I am going home and preparing my meals for tomorrow. I am so excited to eat something, even if it is oatmeal!

So glad you had a good day at work. Did anyone at your office notice anything different about you?

Have you had any weight loss yet? Can't wait to join you on the losers bench.

Actually they did! I used all my sick days so i just called in every day.People were wondering what was wrong with me since I have been there every day for several months.

One co worker said I had a glow, another said I looked different but unsure why. I still wear my old baggy clothes so they dont see a difference yet.

At weigh in 3 weeks ago,my first visit to the clinic, I was at 377. As of this morning I am at 346!34 lbs, 20 lbs lost in pre op.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
