Hey salesking, you're about 2 wks ahead of me - my sleeve date was May 24. How's life at your stage in the process? I'm still on heavy liquids and can't wait to get to pureed food on Wednesday. Feeling exhausted today but most days I'm chipper and back to life as usual. Mostly curious about your stage cause I have an out of state sales summit to go to in 1.5 weeks and I'm nervous about the food while dining out. Any recommendations for me?

So life for me is 100% back to normal. food is never easy, but hey that is life. I am actually in sales as well, and funny enough have 2 conferences over the next 2 weeks. The best advise I can give is to be patient with your food. I will admit I have jumped ahead a little to give myself more options while traveling, but very cautiously. Right now I should be purée only, but I yesterday I started to add in crab sticks. So far so good, and for me these are easy to come by from Lunds. For travel if in a jam always remember chili and Soup is always a sure bet. I also eat a bunch (is 2-3 tbl spoons is a bunch...LOL!) of avocado and cottage cheese is well in a jam.

Where in MN do you live? If you are near the west suburbs maybe we could meet up and chat. It would be great to meet another person on their journey.

Thanks Salesking! That is really helpful. I love that you mentioned avocados, I ate 1/2 each day on my pre-op diet and MISS THEM horribly. I'm anxious to try it this week when I'm back to work. Good to hear from someone else that is doing this while juggling work travel, it helps a lot! I'm down by the Iowa border on a rural farm so I'm not too sure I'll get to catch up with you in person... That's what makes this site so great - good outreach no matter where you are. Good luck on the road (literally and figuratively!).

Hi, I'm from Minnesota and I had my surgery at Methodist Hospital in St Louis Park MN. Dr Jones was my surgeon and he was wonderful!

My surgery was Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:00 am.

My surgery went well!

Now I am on a 7 day clear liquid diet until I see my Bariatric nurse .

I made the right decision.

Hi!!! I'm 26 and in Mn :-) I will be having mine in late July at Park Nicollet in St Louis Park. It's really nice to know that there are other people in their 20s around here going through this same process. The only friend I've told had bypass 6 years ago, but she live across the country...

I'd love to be a part support group :-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
