I'm having the worst pain on my right side. Feels like a pull or pinch. Anyone else have this problem?

My surgery was April 11. I have pulling from the inside against the incisions. At first on my right was a horrific searing pain and pulling in the kargest incision, something let loose one night and then it hurt less. Now on my left side, I have two incisions that are sore and pulling from inside and some weird charley horse kind of cramping going on in the ab muscles around those two spots. It kept me up til 2 am last night. Overall my pain is less, but I see the MD tomorrow for the 2 week check up (@ 13 days, LOL).

Mine is on the left side, but I know what you mean... I sneezed before and was nearly in tears.

It still hurts an hour later. :(

I had the same thing. It was excruciating. Some night it would take me almost 5 minutes to get in bed because it hurt so bad. It's your abdominal muscles. It's totally normal. It will gradually go away. Mine took a good 3 weeks before I didn't notice it anymore. Hang in there.

Yeah it's just your ab muscles. They will gradually get a little better each day until one day you'll wake up and notice you're pain free. Try to move around as much as you can but don't over exert yourself. The more you move around the better it gets. Mine took a little over 3 weeks to stop hurting. Hang in there!

I'm 4 weeks out and my pain is on the left side. Pulling and ripping feeling when I sit, get up, or bend down. I spoke with my nurse today. She said its very normal and it the inner incisions. Today was a little better. She said by 6 weeks they should be healed up. I hope so!!

I have this on the left side under my rib and same spot in the back. My doc says mine is from a drain she had in there. Drain came out yesterday so I hope this goes away. Hurts when I breath sometimes

My pains more on the left. I too had surgery on the 18th and also a stomach sleeper. I'm having so much pain with this and trouble with a good nights sleep! Get some pillows and prop em up underneath your back and head it positions me just right!

2 week post op today. They said the pulling is the ab muscles healing from the inner sutures where they closed the larger access points. The said they should settle down by 6 weeks but that I can return to my very physical job between 3-4 weeks post op. MD recommended I refrain from work closer to the 4 week time frame. Mine was a band to vsg revision, so there is a lot more to heal inside. I am having less burning stabbing now and more aching and alien cramp stuff going on in the muscles. They did recommend I back off to liquids for an additional 2 weeks to allow the sleeve to heal with a smoother thinner lining

I've been experiencing the same type of pinch or pull on the right side - - which started yesterday - the only difference is that I'm over 4 months post op!! This is curious to me....I've had smooth sailing up until now. Maybe it's not even related to the sleeve surgery. They removed my gallbladder at the same time....so it can't be that either. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello all,

My pain did not start until 4 weeks after my surgery. I don't know if it's my abs muscles or not it feels like someone is stabbing me from the inside out. I don't know if something is wrong. Does anyone know what their doctor said it was? I know my stomach is not leaking I had it tested twice, however this pain is recent and it only feels like this when I get up and walk. Help anyone???

End up at er it is not apendiside but where the stables are it is so crump and soer but no infection, just pain. Anyone had anything like that? I am on my 7 day of sleeve. I don’t know if I over did. This didn’t start until 3 days after and I thought was gas pain.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
