Where are you ladies from? I'm from Long Island in NY <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm from Long Island too :)

My surgery is July 15th on Long Island. I'm getting nervousness. I start my liquid diet on Monday and am trying to get everything prepared for my post op. :)

Don't forget Sleeve Irwin (Crikey!) and Sleeve Carrell, and Sleeve Jobs!

I think I'll call mine iSleeve. :D

ISleeve - love it!!

Instead of the iPod Touch, mine is very much an iSleeve DON'T TOUCH. Healing not yet complete, LOL--coming through on the next patch/system upgrade.

Happy Fourth of July 2013! I have only 12 more days to my surgery and my new "independence"! I am very excited and nervous. Look forward to participating in this online support group.

I just looked at my count down app - 10 days to go. Wow! I have been on my pre-op diet for a week (by choice) and my heart did a little flip flop when I saw the days left. I guess I may be hit by the nerves after all.

I know the feeling. The first day it was ok but the next day i woke up with a huge headache. I started early so i dont have to struggle on mon :)

My head has been POUNDING all day... Not hungry, just need to get rid of this headache. I suffer from migraines and I'm terrified that this will turn into one...

I'm day 2 of liquid diet' date=' and starving[/quote']

Is your surgery on the 17th?

7 days & counting :) !!!

7 days & counting :) !!!

That's GREAT!!! We have to do a 2 week liquid diet, 12days to go....hope I survive lol

I'm sleeved! I checked in at 7:30am and they soon called me back to get prepped. The nurse too my med history' date=' the lab came and drew blood and pick up a urine sample (good thing I had any!). I changed into my gown and robe, and since I was on my period, I let the nurse know and she gave me some disposable hospital underwear to wear and a pad. I was bummed about this, until my mom reminded me that there was a silver lining- all my girly parts that I was worried about being exposed could now be covered by the underwear! My surgery was around 11:20- before that I got an anti-blood clot shot in my stomach, got my IV started, saw my anesthesiologist and my surgeon Dr. McMahon even popped by! When they wheeled me back, I kissed my husband goodbye and then I saw the surgery room- big, white, clean and except for Dr.McMahon I had an all female team! Girl power! They transferred me to the narrow surgery table with an inflatable thing under me which sort of reminded me of air hockey- they just slid me over with no effort! I was chatting with folks to keep from being too nervous and I think the anethesiologist wanted to shut me up so she said, "ok, here comes the oxygen!" The mask was put in my mouth, she had me breathe deeply a few times, and then she put the good stuff in my IV. At the same time, I noticed the oxygen had a weird chemical smell, and the next thing I know, I was waking up in recovery. My pain level was about a 5 out of 10 and I was a little nauseous, but they quickly got that under control with drugs. According to my surgeon, my surgery was textbook and I had the perfect anatomy for the sleeve and the staples lined up perfectly! Prayers answered! Before I knew it, I was in my room with my mom and my husband. After a few hours, I was walking - 4 laps around the hospital floor with my hobbit feet slippers and using the bathroom. I didn't need a catheter and didn't have a drain (my surgeon doesn't use them). I drank an ounce of water which I tolerated great and then got a protein shake which I've been nursing ever since- burping gas up as I went. Doing great so far- thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! Here's me before surgery and after- walking the hospital floor. I hope everyone else's recovery was smooth!
