  1. Hello, I'm quite new to this site, but thought that I'd try and find some Gold Coast girls/guys who have been sleeved or who are getting sleeved. I Would love to try and organise some group get togethers so we can support each other and share ideas. I get sleeved July 2nd by Dr Nolan at Southport. I'm getting very excited now and would love to hear other people's stories. Hoping to hear from others in the same boat in the same area. Lily
  2. Hi, are there any other July sleevers out there. Golly it feels like forever away... 10 weeks to go...

Yay guys, we don't have much longer to go now... Liquid diet has commenced and now on the downward slide... I'm so excited for all of us, here's to a healthier skinnier life to us all... Love Lily xx
  4. Getting thinner gal, I totally agree with you. I have actually seen dr Nolan on 3 occasions now and I am so happy that I chose him. He is extremely straight to the point and now after building a rapport with him, that's exactly what I like about him. I can even have a joke with him now. He is such a good surgeon and very thorough. I would recommend anybody to see him. A big congratulations to you on your weight loss. That's really well done. I'm looking forward to following in your footsteps, 25 days to go..... But... Who's counting ha ha.. Did you have your surgery at Allamanda? Take care and thanks for your post xx

    Eating more and more....help

Thinking of you and praying for you. I haven't been sleeved yet so I can't really help. I wish I could.. Maybe go and speak to a psychologist. Could you possibly speak to your surgeon. I have read a lot about sizes of the sleeve and it has been proven that the bigger they leave the sleeve the less success you will have especially in the long term. My surgeon also spoke to me about this. Could being re sleeved be an option if this is the case ? I really feel for you as if we all had willpower to control what we eat and how much we eat possibly we all wouldn't of ended up chubby and needing the sleeve in the first place. Maybe also try as well to have some more protein, as it may fill you up more and take away cravings for other foods. As I mentioned I haven't had my sleeve yet, I've only had a lapband so I'm probably not the best person to be giving you advice.. All I can really do is wish you the very best of luck and hope that everything works out for you.. Hang in there xxx

Oh I'm so hearing you about your knees. My knee, one in particular is so bad at the moment. It's 9.15pm here and I'm lying in bed with a heat pack feeling very sorry for myself. Dr thinks that it will improve once I lose weight. It's really freezing here at the moment as well so I don't think that cold weather helps I think that over here in. Oz land things must be done a lot differently as overhere we don't need to do the sleep study, not all people have the endoscopy. When you go and see your surgeon he gives you a date for surgery then and there, you do need to go and see a dietician, you can normally get in the next week to see dietician.I didn't need to see a psychologist either. In saying that though I did when I had my lap band so maybe that's the reason why I didn't have to again. Also in regards to insurance company, I just give my surgeon all my details and I don't need todo a thing. My friend just booked his surgery last week, he does need to have an endoscopy tomorrow and is going to see dietician next weeks. He's booked in for surgery 3 days after me.. It's funny how different places have different rules.. Anyway I'm going to call it a night, sweet dreams, take care and chat soon and I'll also spraying for you guys as well. Please let me know when you have a date.. I hope soon xxxxx

9 Month Surgiversary w/ *Before & After Pics*

So very very inspiring... You are absolutely gorgeous. You should be a model. You sound like you are just as beautiful on the inside as what you are on the outside.. A huge big congratulations to you... I wish you every happiness for the future.... Golly you are going to be one hot bride in the future..... Pictures please !!!!! Best of luck also to your aunt... My surgery is in 6 weeks time and one day I hope to inspire others just as you are xox
  21. oh you poor darling.. I haven't been sleeved yet (another 6 weeks ) but when I had my lapband done I got shoulder tip pain.. Worst pain ever.. I would have rather have given birth to my 6 children again rather than go through that. I really feel for you. I definately agree with Butterfly66, walk walk walk and drink plenty of water. Also hot pack, I walked around constantly with my hot pack. I have to admit mine lasted for about two weeks, it would come and go though, it does get better .. Hang in there and think of all the reasons why you got the sleeve.. I hope that you feel much better soon. Take care Janette xo

    Any Tattooed Sleevers?

Hi epasseri, I haven't been sleeved yet... another 6 weeks... so I can't help you, it's a very interesting question though. I have a couple and I wondered how distorted they will look when I lose weight. I have to lose about 30kg. Well done on your weight loss thats impressive and good luck with your new tattoo, sounds like it will be nice

    July 2013 sleevers

yay Missyjoy2078, You are the same day as me, so exciting and Brendan..... YAY !!!!!! I just sent you an email actually and then just read this message. So are you going to Allamanda? if so you will be going into hospital the day that I will be going home. Have you booked in to see nutritionist yet? She is really lovely, you'll like her. We will be starting our pre op diet around the same time. The book that she will give you when you go and see her is really informative, the appointment with her goes for about 90 min, she is great, she explains everything, she also comes and visits you the day after surgery in the hospital. She said that it's also possible to stay in hospital for three nights rather then 4.... Here's hoping !!! hey you and your wife should come over for afternoon tea one day before we start our pre op diets, I'll bake some treats lol.. take care and Chat soon ps I'm really happy that you have made your decision and you seem relaxed with the idea.
  25. Hi again Brendan, I haven't managed to find any other gold coasters on the forum I also was having doubts last week however than went and spoke about it yet again to my GP and he can't speak highly enough about it.. I really haven't been able to find anything really negative about the sleeve at all... I'm so happy that you are going to go and see Dr Nolan, he truly is a wonderful surgeon and he explains everything very clearly and very well. Be warned though be is very straight to to the point and matter of fact, some people may perceive this as arrogant but he by no means is, when my hubby and I visited him for the first time, I must admit I was a little frightened of him (you'll see what I mean ). I had absolutely no problems with him taking my band out, the surgery went great no complications what so ever.. I am extremely happy that i am being looked after by dr Nolan, i'm sure that you will be also My sleeve surgery is 52 more days away (who's counting). Hey I would love to catch up for a cuppa and a chat. What area are you from ? Give me a call and we'll organise a time. I know that you said that you wanted a guy to talk to but hey.... Well I'll just speak in a deeper voice. It would be so nice to be able to share this journey with someone who is also going through it and like your wife my hubby is very supportive so we are really lucky. My mobile is 0458032034, call or text anytime Brendan.. Lily
