My pre op diet is very minimal like broth, and slim fast, Decaf coffee, sugar free Jello. I don't have a dietitian or nut, I did email my contact, she didn't seem too worried about the weight gain. I'm having surgery in Mexico and its a 15 hour drive for us, I don't want to get there and them not be able to do it that would be devastating!!

My date is July 2nd! I started my one week pre-op liquid diet yesterday and it is ROUGH! My Dr is Dr Kim and I'm terrified to eat anything becasue I want my liver to be well enough for surgery but I am so needing to chew something. Any help or tips would be appreciated!

Have you tried chewing ice (like crushed ice?). That always helped when I needed something to eat but wasn't allowed during my inductions with the boys.

I got my date today! It's July 8th! I'm a little anxious because my surgeon likes a 2 week pre-op diet but the date is less than 2 weeks away! I started the diet tonight. I happened to have a support group meeting tonight and my dietitian was there and I talked to her about it; she said it would be okay.

I am 4-days in with my liquid diet. Yes, I will admit I ate 4 small cashews yesterday when I was traveling for work on my flight home but other than that nothing else. I chew a lot of Sonic Ice but overall I have done well. I have lost 5-lbs...praying my 4 cashews will not hinder my July 1st surgery date....pushing Water today and the next 4-days to flush everything out as much as I can. Good Luck I know you will do well ~

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
