I want a nana so bad. :(

Really, they are one of the healthiest foods out there and healthier (IMO) than most Protein Bars, but. I think I'm in ketosis an am striving to eat very low carb. I reeeeeally want a banana. I know I'm low on potassium, maybe I should just get a supplement?

It doesn't help that I have a handful of them getting overripe on my table. Mmmmm bananas.

No one ever became obese or ruined their diet by eating bananas. I say eat one if you are cleared for soft foods.

so why are nanners taboo? It's on my 'avoid' list, but since I'm not crazy about them, I didn't ask.

Did you get the idea from reading my MFP diary with that half a banana and quarter cup of PB2? Sorry if I triggered a craving :D

Also I have not researched it fully, but Vitamin Water zero the "Revive" flavor has 25% of the RDA of potassium... Regular multi Vitamins only ever give 3% so to find a non perscription non-caloric source of potassium is not easy to do.

It has nothing to do with the sleeve, She's watching her carb intake in order to stay in ketosis. She's taking a ketogenic approach for weight loss.. (think Atkins)

sugar free banana Syrup and cottage cheese. If you don't have the syrup I believe ou can use extract. Or carbmaster yogurt has a banana cream pie flavor along with strawberry banana flavor

Actually I hadn't seen that on your mfp but that sounds dreally yummy. I don't know of you're against sweeteners, but I put nectresse in my PB2 mixed w almond milk and it was good. That was a preop "dessert". I'm not sure if I'm in ketosis for sure. I'm getting more carbs than I did on Atkins induction. I think a nana won't kill me. :)

The banana cream pie yogurt sounds yummy.

I'm 6 weeks in. I eat just about anything now. :D

Laura. So daring.

Bananas are quite healthy, but also pretty high in carbs and my dietician did say it can be a "slider food". Amy, maybe you could avoid breaking ketosis by taking a quarter of a banana and mixing it into something? You might be able to get the satisfaction of the taste, maybe even the texture, without breaking the bank on the carb side. Just a thought...

I'm just wondering who can eat a whole banana? Slider food? Not for me and I've owned this sleeve for almost 11 months. Very, very filling......

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
