My love affair with food is FINALLY over!

Recommended Posts

Tonight I realized that my love affair with food has come/is quickly coming to an end. The things I used to drool over no longer have any effect on me. A couple bites and I am completely satisfied. No more eating Breakfast while daydreaming about what I'm having for lunch and dinner. I have to admit that it makes me kind of sad. food was such a huge crutch for me for so long. However, I'm loving the new me!! Just thinking out loud. Hope you are all doing well on your journeys.

I also feel so free now. Food no longer controls my life. sometimes I feel like getting in enough Protein controls my life, though, lol!!

I'm dealing with that now actually having some issues with depression because of it. I don't miss the food but something's got me down :(

I'm sorry you are dealing with depression. I totally feel your pain. Maybe it's because the reality of the whole process is setting in? Such a huge lifestyle change. I wish you the best. This forum is a great tool for expressing your feelings.

I agree totally. The first 2 months I was disgusted with food and my appetite and cravings have slowly returned. I am still winning the fight but it is much harder than I thought it would be. Good luck.

Again...sorry that is YOUR experience. Hope it gets better for you.

Hi' date=' I will pray for you & I also wish you the best. Don't be afraid to speak with a professional (Dr, counselor, pastor) to get the support/help that you need. If it is truly depression, please don't ignore it. Now, you may have meant this loosely, but in case you are serious, I just know it can get you down if unattended to. Inbox me if needed. Best wishes![/quote']

Thanks. I mean it loosely. I'm down a lot because my better half works away from home and its hard not having him here with me while I go though this process. I'm a social worker so I'm surrounded by professionals but I thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers!

Okay, well I totally understand that. I imagine it would be hard. You're a social worker, so I'm preaching to the choir, LOL! But, hey, I have an idea...might sound cheezy, but it works. Start keeping a journal of your journey & when you & hubby have quiet time together, share with him some of your entries. That way, you can capture how you feel when he's not there, but you will still be able to share it with him & discuss it while in bed, over dinner, chillin' on the couch...whatever you prefer! Best Wishes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
