What to bring?

Recommended Posts

We fly out on the 30th- so we should cross paths around the 29th. We wanted to stay a little longer, but flights were so expensive leaving Sat or Sun (I think that weekend everyone is returning from the boston convention- I gave up on ever understanding airline prices)

I can't wait to see you.

Delarla- I lived in southern Mexico for 1 1/2 years (I know and appreciate Mexican Arrogance) he also graduated (or went) Med school with a friend of mine and she says he's the best and would let him operaate on her kids- so he must be the best.

I actually am so nuerotic that I have a chart of everyone, their Mexican surgeon, how many problems they have and how much weight they have lost. He and Rumbault are tied and Kuri does great (but he seems to have less posters) so he come in second.

He has a whole lot more graduate bandsters (I think) so they don't post as much on the lists I am on.

Tina

You will love Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez ..they are great doctors and hotties too. They both speak perfect english and so does their entire staff. Don't worry about a thing Mama Ortiz (Dr. Ortiz's mother) will take great care of you from the time you arrive until the time you leave. Everything on your list is everything I was told to bring and did. Oh except the book, I was told too but forgot but wish I had. Good Luck you you and let us know how it goes for you. Ortiz also has a new board for his patients to post I dont know if you are aware of it but here is the address

www.lapbandforum.com

it is very similar to this forum but all of Ortiz patients. However anyone can join I believe.

I was going to have my port removal with Dr. Ortiz and use him as my new doctor, but Dr. Kuri's schedule and prices worked better for me. I've heard rumors about both, but I'd personally let either of them operate on me.

Tina,

We are leaving tommorrow so I won't get another chance to look at the board. Can't wait to see you when you get there. I'll be the one trying not to pick up any of my kids.

Have a safe trip with the kids and I'm really looking forward to meeting you!!!:D Just think, we'll be saying we're banded really soon! I'm so excited! I'll be there in TJ on the 29th for pre-op, so I'll be on the look out for you at the Lucerna.

Best of luck with the surgery!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
