March Sleevers - what does your diet consust of

Recommended Posts

Had my 3 week chk up today. Down 32lbs, dr said I was ahead of the curve, put me on phase 3 diet(soft foods, no more puree) then in a week I can move to anything. I've been adding strawberries and/or blue berries to my Protein Shake. I find that the frozen berries work best plus usually the seeds just sink to the bottom.

I am a March 19th..I am eating pretty much the same as everyone else..refried Beans, shrimp and broiled fish, chewed well, greek yogurt, egg beaters with turkey sausage mixed in for Breakfast, I do miss a fresh salad..don't know when I can have that, but I am really focused on the Protein righ now. I also found Chick Fil A will sell their chicken salad in a cup for about $3. It makes 2-3 meals for me! pudding and Jello is getting old. i do eat lunch meat with a little grated cheese and squirt of mustard in it (my version of a ham sandwich!) Y'all share some more ideas! im learning a lot from this site!

I am 5 weeks out. I am still drinking a shake for breakfast because it is easier and I bring it to work. Otherwise I am eating pretty much what I want but only healthy stuff. I have had strawberries and did not have any problems with the seeds. I am limited to about 2-3 ounces at a time.

In the beginning I really had to learn how to slow down and take small bites. I had a problem with taking that 1 bite too many, and then everything came right back up!

Another great tool is the myfitnesspal.com to keep track of calories, protiens and carbs. I am limiting myself to 600 calories a day and I try to walk in the evenings for about 45 minutes.

My Dr. did not have me on a pureed food stage. He just told me to chew everything really well.

It does help to see what everyone else is doing.

Just over four weeks out here.. Having 1/2 scoop of Protein powder in my morning coffee then eating three meals and two Snacks.

Sample meals:

Meal 1: 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese, 1/2 cup spinach 2T Tomato sauce, 1T Parmesan cheese 1/2 ounce low fat mozzarella.

Meal 2: 1/4 cup diced chicken, 1/4 cup curried lentils, 1/5 of an avocado.

Meal 3: 3 ounces of roast beef 1/2 ounce muenster cheese, 1/5 of an avocado

Snack: 1/2 banana and 1/4 cup of PB2 (90calories, 10g Protein and 4g fiber)

Snack: 1 piece millers spicy hot bologna

and I'm disappointed to say that I ate a package of Peanut Butter cups today. Grrr... the sleeve helps, but I'm still a work in progress when it comes to willpower!

My total calorie/macro totals for today: 897 calories, 60 carbs, 42 fat, 82 protein. I'm eating between 700-900 calories per day.

I was sleeved the same day. I am on puréed. I tried eggs and had horrible chest pains. I can handle beef (taco meat, meatloaf), mashed potatoes, refried Beans and such. My fave has been cottage cheese with taco seasoning.

I couldn't handle eggs...I always loved eggs. I first was able to poach them and only could tolerate the yoke. But, yesterday I took an egg started pan cooking and added a slice of white American cheese. It scrambled great and I was able to eat half of it. Ate the remaining at a snack. Ended up with 10 grams of protein--and the egg was good! I was sleeved 3/11 and only can take in 2 measured ounces at meals or Snacks. I realized I felt uncomfortable if I tried pushing that 2 ounces to 3.

Sleeved March 6th and just started regular foods. I haven't tried beef yet... But I've had chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp.... Maybe two whole bites of cauliflower or green Beans. Turkey sausage too, ham at Easter and crock pot softened pork chops. Of course, 1.5 oz. is my limit, so not too much of anything lol

I was 3/1 so I'm almost 6 weeks postop and can now pretty much eat anything...citrus fruits next week. I'm still scared of strawberries because of the seeds but am dying to add some to my vanilla Protein shake with banana. Anyone else eating them?

I eat ground turkey, Wendy's chili, chicken strips/tenders, yogurt, eggs, cheese, Mission Brand low carb small tortillas from which I've made pizza & also mexican pizza, let's see, canned Beans, salad with both iceberg & spinach, sausage links cut up (hot kind, yikes!! too spicey, lol), ummm...string cheese, oh I said cheese, green Beans, baked beans, Soup, including potato Soup, KFC grilled leg & I KEEP THE SKIN ON!! :-) with small serving of mashed potoes NO GRAVY....OH, & I've eaten fresh fruit including, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, melon, & also pineapple (had to spit out the tough parts though). That's all I can think of right off. Grilled Tilapia came back up, but I will try it again in near future. Oh, & also cottage cheese too. I like cottage cheese with a little bit of Splenda in it. I like sweet stuff, lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
