Does anyone know if Unsweetened Almond Milk with Cream of Wheat, very thinned out....would this be considered fulll liquid or would it be considered puréed stage? I'm on full liquids now.

Thx!

I was doing cream of wheat in the full liquid stage. I had no problems with it, and it tastes so good at that point. Enjoy!

My MD and my NUT totally have different post-op plans. I called my NUT on this conflicting info and she said that you just need to go slow and only have as much as you can tolerate, so time frames aren't AS important as pacing yourself and going slowly to judge how your stomach is going to react. This response seemed completely reasonable to me.

It's hard to get an exact answer on this, every surgeon has different plans - as do different NUTs. But it's your body. Try a tiny bite and see how you do. If you react badly, then you know to wait a few more days to try again. :)

Personally, I'd try the almond milk before the cream of wheat, but I'm pre-op, so what the heck do I know? lol

Good luck!

silk makes an unsweetened almond milk that's not bad: 1 cup = 30 cals, 2.5 grams of fat, <1 carb, <1 dietary Fiber and 1 Protein.

silk's unflavored light soy milk has 60 cals, 1.5 grams of fat, 5g carbs, 1g dietary fiber/3g sugars and 6 grams of Protein, by comparison.

I'd rather take the extra gram of fat and skip the carbs and calories, especially if I'm using this for a Protein shake anyway. With that info in mind, which one do you think is better? (i'm a newbie to this, would like some input - also, I don't drink milk currently, so non-dairy options are what I'm interested in)

Cream of wheat was puree for me. I also drink the silk unsweetend almond milk. I'm seven weeks out. You drink so little of it... you probably won't even get that 2.5 grams.

I used Lactaid ( great if you're lactose intolerant) in early stages but also used the silk. The soy gave me gas. But it is a better choice than the almond milk. I usually look at the total breakdown. Some things that are harder to digest can stall your weight loss. I have had pretty amazing success with the sleeve just by keeping the fat and simple carbs as low as possible and keeping my protein and Water consumption up.

I'm gonna have to say that the almond milk is a better bet overall regarding calories, fat and carbs. As soon as I went from Clear liquids to full liquids I've traded Water for almond milk in my Protein shakes. Since I blend with ice I'm not even getting a full serving.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
