I just had surgery yesterday. Already at home but i am having a really hard time peeing! Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I need to go get a catheter if it doesn't improve :(

They had to straight cath me the day of surgery because I didn't have the urge to pee after that I would go to the bathroom and sit and was able to pee but still didn't feel an urge until the following day

I was concerned about this and the nurse told me it wasn't that uncommon for this to happen

I was the same way on May 3rd. Yes it does get better. I had to stay in the hospital two nights. I felt horrible the first day. I was getting sick too but my doc gave me something to help the nausea. In am almost at week 4 and 40 lbs down since surgery. I was sad at first because I was in pain. However, by the second day, the tech had a hard time keeping up with me down the hallways because my doc wanted me to walk. I ride a bicycle for the first time in 15 years on yesterday. Just to do that again it was well worth the pain.

I'm nearly 4 weeks post op and on soft food. I have been having a lot of trouble with nausea. I spoke to my surgeon about it and he said it was due to acid in my stomach. I'm on nexium for this but I'm allowed to use gaviscon before each meal to help with this. And I'm happy to say it has!! Finally! Sorry I'm a little excited!

I just are some tuna and crackers and felt fine! And, the best part about it was there was 15g of Protein in it!

It was hurting before I even started drinking.. my nurses and p.a. said that is where they fixed a hernia.. but I think that I am drinking too fast.. its hard to get use to.. so when weighing in the day of surgery I weighed 241 and now I am 230.. I like seeing that.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
