Where the May sleevers i just got my date!

Recommended Posts

I have the same kid issue (15' date=' 13, & 11yo)

I have been preparing the kids for a while telling them I am seeing a doctor and a nutritionist to help me lose weight and get healthier. My kids are all big outdoors fans and we camp and hike. Obviously, I can't keep up. So I tell them I want to be able to do more stuff with. them.

I have not told them I am getting surgery. Nor have I told any family or friends. I'm just telling them its another "procedure" like the sleep study, EGD, or stomach emptying studies I have had.

Thanks for the advice. Good luck in your journey!! Keep me posted on how you do :)

Hello. All! I've been so inspired reading threads on VST since February, but this is my first post. My date is May 8th! Excited and nervous, but educated. Ready for a healthier me, but not so ready to shell out all the $$$ --- I'm a self payer! What's your biggest post-surgery concern?

Mulliganmom...I'm self-pay on May 8th, too...my biggest post-op concern is what I am going to do with all of those emotions that I have been soothing/stuffing down/hiding from by over eating for the past 15 years...and I'm concerned that my tastes will change so much that I don't truly enjoy food any more

I have a long appt with Dr and staff on May 1. That's when I'll pick up everything for my 2 week pre-op.

Won't be long now!

Have you started yours?

So ... is everyone ready for their pre-op diet? My surgeon told me I had to keep the calorie intake between 800-1,000 calories per day during this phase.

I'm already starting to stock up on Protein Shakes, but I want to plan my liquids to make sure I'm doing everything right. Me + no plan = failure:(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
