Any sleevers from london?

Recommended Posts

Hello uk sleevers! I am 2 weeks post off and find this forum the best support there is. I was wondering if there are fellow sleevers from London, and if anyone from Homerton hospital!

I was sleeved April last year in Edinburgh so not much use to you re Homerton Hospital:) Have you had a look on Youtube? Here are a few people that I follow. Go back to the start of their videos, they are a huge source of information and support. All are American and therefore some of the dietary stuff is different from the UK and some had lapband or gastric bypass but lots of the day to day information is the same... best of luck to you, you'll soon start feeling great and getting your life back!

Thanks vsglass!

I was "addicted" to the americans video before the surgery, i watched loads as I learned so much from them but post surgery I find that the diet I was given in Homerton is quite different from theirs so I was looking for some "uk advice". I'm also bored of the liquid diet -thank god is the week!- so some ideas to vary it a bit would be very welcome!

At the moment I'm living on Tomato Soup, slim fast and natural runny yogurt- every day!

I am in Liverpool - feel like that is quite close to London as most of the people on here are from America. I am pre sleeve just researching at the moment. Just wondered how you are finding it?

Sorry I am of no more use than that x x

I'm in the UKbut not London , you will find lots of Brits on gastricsurgeryfriends.com (has a sleeve section) or WLSurgery.com , the first seems to have a few people in or around London.

Hey,

I'm 10 days post op now and I haven't had any problems. I see my doctor tomorrow but my scales tell me I've lost 20 pounds since surgery :)

I am doing absolutely fine

Do let me know If you have any questions x

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
