Water Aerobics - I am a believer!

Recommended Posts

So I got cleared for more cardio exercise..I shove my butt into my bathing suit and head to my local rec center. I figured how hard can this be...omg how wrong I was!!!

Good news is I loved it and it was a hell of a workout!!!

I agree!

I don't do it anymore but I did Water aerobics for a long time and it was a critical part of my succcess.

Here is a tip - I have horrible thighs. Nobody laughs at you if you were something like bike shorts under your swimsuit to help with your self consciousness.

Please, don't let your body image issues stop you from Water aerobics, I believe it is the BEST exercise for people who are still overweight, and/or have joint issues. It is as easy or hard as YOU make it. I know I stopped when I was about a size 16 (I am an 8 now) because I need variety but I highly recommend it - one of my "success factors" for sure!

I have been doing Water aerobics since 9-12, sleeved 8-24. In December I increased from 2 days a week to 5 days a week. I have lost 100 lb.'s since 8-1-12. I LOVE WATER AEROBICS TOO. Recently the weather has changed and I am out taking photos and biking. Everything is so much easier. I need to squat for photos and I can real nice now. I can ride standing up. Have not done that in 30 yrs. I am now lifting weights in addition to water aerobics. Water is more fun but I am being told "if I want to live on land I must exercise on land". I can go up and down steps real well now. ALL THANKS TO WATER AEROBICS,

I am going to do it three days a week. I am also going to work with a personal trainer two days a week for a half hour. I also have a dog which gets walked for between 30 to 45 minutes a day.

I think this is enough for now lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
