I was sleeved 2/21 and so far have not vomited or felt nausea when eating. Yesterday I started vomiting right after I eat. I have vomited the last 3 meals I've ate. I have read its not un-common to vomit with this surgery but curious why it would start 6 weeks later? Any ideas?

Nope, I even threw up my cottage cheese and I have been eating that for weeks. I feel normal once I vomit

Sometimes the stomach can heal too tight and they need to stretch it with a balloon. Stricture. Check with your dr. Good luck!

I don't know the cause of your nausea but I am 7 weeks out and I still vomit...perhaps a couple times a week and usually after dinner. I think I might be causing my issue though. Tonight I ate very, very slowly and it stayed down. I hope you feel better soon and that maybe some of the vets have some answers. If not, I would probably call the surgeon tomorrow because you mentioned nothing has changed.

I was sleeved on 2/21 also. I find that if I take too big of a bite or too quickly, then I feel discomfort, sometimes to the point of vomiting. I started taking Papaya Enzyme tablets when I get the discomfort feeling. It helps digest the food and works pretty quickly. You can buy it with the Vitamins at the store.

I must have been eating to fast because I kept everything down today but paid special attention while eating. Another lesson learned! Just with they weren't gross like that

I'm five weeks out and I've been experiencing the same thing. All the sudden I'm vomiting when eating the same foods. Today I'm focusing on getting fluids and Protein Shakes in and I will try with soft foods again tomorrow

Try eating really slow and chewing the heck out of everything. That has always helped me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
