Faybie,

I can't believe your mom didn't notice!! My mom is watching me like a hawk. Of course, she had the band 1 1/2 months after me so she keeps saying..."That's gonna be me too!!" I just got down to a size 22. I was originally a 30 (EEEEK!) Can't wait to be a 16 too!! The clothing choices are so much nicer...and younger looking!!!

Hi, Faybie:

Why haven't you told your mom about the band? My mom has given up trying to give me clothes. : )

Do you need any work clothes Libra? I have 2 or 3 boxes of 22, 1x and x that I boxed up.

Most of my family is "large". I can't say we all were 20 years ago, but through the years we have just all continuously gained weight. I watch for ques from my family to see if any of them are interested in losing weight and they all ate 2 over stuffed plates of Christmas dinner and tried a large piece of EVERY dessert. If they acted like they wanted to lose weight, I might tell them, however, I have learned over the years that if you want EVERYONE to know something tell my mom... add "this is a secret" to the story and she puts an add in the newspaper. LOL.

LMAO!!! I think we have the same mother!!!!:biggrin1:

Thanks for the clothes offer. I'm not working at the moment as my 3 year old has had severe asthma and I'm not able to get back to work yet because of it. I pretty much live in jeans.:bananapartyhat:

LOL no jeans in my clothes... sorry that I couldn't help, I would so much like to help one of my fellow ABC'ers.

Funny, your mom broadcasts from her living room too? LMAO. My mom needs her own talk show. I can't remember the last time I told her something private because I have distrusted her for so long.

Its sad to think that not everyone has the support of their familys. But at leaast you guys have us!! My mom is pretty much the one person that says she can't see it as much, and and old roommate that I saw yesterday asked if I'd had any results yet, when I said YEAH 54 lbs his face lit up and he said "OMG thats a small child" but for some reason he couldnt see it until I showed him a picture of me before. People see what they want to see and maybe its because they only saw you for whats on the inside to begin with and that'd be a nice way to think about it lol. Lets keep up the good work through the new year!

I have exactly the opposite problem . . . I'm big in a family full of thin people. They constantly talk about diets, their weight and exercise. They just can't understand why I can't lose weight permanently. None of them have ever weighed over 200 lbs. I've done it three times! The hardest thing is being compared to my thin, twin sister. She never had children so she has a much easier time (I had twins). The only family member that really understands is my birth mother who has struggled just like me.

We just got back from California and had the time of our life. We stayed at La Costa outside San Diego. The weather was great so we walked everywhere - La Jolla, Coronado Island and 10 hours at Disneyland - the lines were unbelievable 75 minute wait for Space Mountain. I danced the night away on New Years' Eve. I could not have done this 6 months ago. I am so thrilled with my 38 pound loss that I am ready to take off the rest. I go in tomorrow for my third fill. My current restriction allowed me to eat but not over indulge so my weight stayed the same while on vacation. I loved wearing my new size 16 clothes but I am ready to move on. Let's go August bandsters - good luck and good health in 2007.

Robin,

I feel exactly the same way you do. I think I have lost 39 lbs and I am also in a 16 pant. My Disney trip last June 2005 would have been so much different today. I am so glad to hear that you had such a wonderful vacation and New years. I go in for my 3rd fill too on January 11th. I can't wait.

Are we going to start another thread or keep this one going? This month didn't get too long so it seems kind of a waste to start another one.

Faybie,

I vote for starting a new thread. It's kind of nice to have the thread be current with each month. To me it's like a fresh start and a fresh recommitment to better lap band practices and goals at the start of the month.

Just my 2 cents.

Jo Ann

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
