I'm also scheduled for April 8th but haven't been approved yet. In afraid I'm going to be denied. The coordinator said he wouldn't worry that he's sure I will be approved. But I'm always negative about stuff so I'm thinking what if I'm the first case ever that has been denied. :( he told me to call him Thursday that he should have an answer by then

I'm doing a two week diet which consist of small portions of specific foods. I have to do the liquid diet on Sunday. It does suck though because I already requested two weeks off from work. They aren't aware of what I'm going to do. The anticipation of waiting for the approval or denial is killing me.

I can only imagine that the waiting and not knowing is frustrating... I hope you hear soon and that it is all positive... my doctor put me on a 800 calorie liquid diet only... :( but it works... I am losing... less risky for surgery ... lean up my liver etc... whatever it takes to get this done... I am all for it... I am sooooo ready for this... :)

My doctor actually told me not to lose any weight before the surgery so I'm not on any kind of pre-op diet. I think that's because he wanted my BMI to stay at 40 since you qualify without co-morbitities. I'm supposed to do a clear liquid diet for 2 days before surgery. I'm definitely relieved though to have heard from insurance. Although I do think its made it a bit difficult mentally. It wasn't real until yesterday and now I have less than a week.

I debated about work as well. I have a severe hiatal hernia that is getting repaired at the same time so that is what I've told them. I'm sure it will get approved and you'll do great. I'm definitely no authority but it looked to me like people who got denied got a response very quickly. I took the position of longer the wait the better. :)

Thank you!!!! Do you know how long the surgery is? I think I should write a few questions down and call the coordinator tomorrow.

Congratulations!!! I know when I found out I started shaking. It makes it so real. Don't worry you will be fine. I actually had a band removal in October which makes my surgery a little more complicated. But I've told myself I've done a ton of research, I have an excellent surgeon who I trust and I'm just going to relax and trust in him. You will do great!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
