I lost one pound in the past week. Didn't meet my ten pound goal, but I came close. Merry Christmas!

Who is up for a Red Robin night? How about January 11th? I need a big time distraction! I'm off until the 31st of January, my BF of 18 months broke up with me 5 days before Christmas - stating I am still too overweight and he can't wait any longer for me to get to goal... AND I am just devastated.

Anyway, my goal for 2010 is to get to goal.

My plastic surgery went extremely well. He took 19lbs off my tummy and 8 off my arms. I love my new arms. I love my flat tummy! Right now, I'm dealing with post op swelling, but I can see there is a huge difference already. Dr Sauceda is the best. He's an artist. My incisions are 24 days post op and they are healing very well. MY tummy incisions look like just a wrinkle. I am very pleased. I'm going to start using the silicone strips on Wednesday to minimize the scaring.

My goal is to get to 170 and then have the rest of my plastics done. A Lowerbody lift, Butt auto augmentation, face lift, neck tightening, breast lift and augmentation and full extended thigh lift.

Then any revisions I need on my arms.

I'm up for Red Robin on the 11th, though I will be a little late...water aerobics right before that.

So I haven't been losing still, but haven't been gaining. I am going in for a fill hopefully in January. But I went shopping with my Mom the other day and she insisted that I try on this purple shirt that was a 16/18. It fits pretty good, although it is a stretchy shirt. I am also fitting into some of my "skinny" sister's clothes that she is giving away. She is a 16, and her dresses fit great, but my butt/waist area is about a 22. So I guess I am saying all of this to convince myself that I am still making progress. Even though I am not losing. I hope the pictures work. Just my before and after here, if you want to see progression, then you can go to my album.

OMG I am so, so, sorry about the breakup!!!! THAT SUCKS!!!!! HIS LOSS!

At least you have a nice new tummy and arms! Pics?

I might try to get out there for Red Robin. I am pretty close to my sweet spot, but could probably use another fill soon.

Hope you are feeling better.

I'm finally home, and just trying to lose the weight I "found" in MI. It wAs a heck of a trip. I am still tired.

My grandparents are both 92, and not in the best of health. My grandma has end stage kidney failure. I could see her declining in the 3 weeks I was there. It was quite scary to see. I don't expect her to live until our next trip back (in March) this makes me really sad, but it must be faced. My grandpa is in really bad mental state. He has Altzheimers, but he is not completely gone. In his more lucid times (though fewer and farther between every day) he knows something is wrong with him. He prays and talks to God all day (he was never particularly religious before) It must just be terrible to know you are not right. I keep telling my grandmother he has the mental capacity of a 3 year old, but she won't believe me. She gets so upset and mad when he makes messes, or doesn't do what she tells him to do. I just hope it is over for them soon. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a terrible person, but there is very little quality of life there.... my grandpa with his mental state and my grandma feeling like she is being punished for earlier misdeads by having to take care of him. I won't get too graphic here.... but let's just say it involves a lot of dirty butt wiping. (sorry if still too TMI)

On a happier note..... Happy Belated Birthday to Theresa and Gen. Hope they were great. Theresa, hope you had a fun time at the casino..... sorry I was in MI and not able to make it. Did ya win?????........

Looks like we have lots of good losses going on here. Too bad I have managed to find what everyone else lost.

My husband got me a Wii fit while we were away. Already managed to hurt myself with it. BEFORE IT WAS EVEN OUT OF THE BOX!!!!! I dropped the box on my foot. Man, was it heavy. Hopefully nothing is broken!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the Holidays. I really need to get out and get my shopping done or there is going to be one very unhappy little girl her Christmas morning. I did manage to get her 2 Zhou Zouh hamsters, but nothing to go with them. Hopefully I will be able to find some accessories by Christmas.

Hope to see everyone soon.

Welcome home Julie! So sorry to hear about your Grandparents. What a tough thing to see and live through.

Do you like your Wii? It is so annoying when they tally up your weight and your Mii gets all inflated and fat! I take comfort in the fact that they do the exact same thing for my DH and he is totally not even fat!

Merry Christmas to you & your family!

Went to plastic surgeon today. He was like a sculpture with a hammer and chisel. He told me I was the 'perfect candidate" for three procedures: abdominoplasty, my...something..boobies, and the arm brachiplasty. He went into detail on how he would do the procedure actually TOUCHING my stomach..OMG the last doctor wasn't even directly looking at my body, and wrote down the game plan. The girls in the front office are working on the stuff for insurance, should know in one week if insurance will cover. They act like NO, my primary care doctor acts like 'sure, no problem" so I'm actually excited to see who is right. I have a plan B, plan c and so on. If we get authorization by next week, I'm going in as soon as he can get a slot on the surgery schedule. It is quite possible that in two weeks I will be in the hospital for my plastics. Good thoughts aye! He was very very supportive of my efforts and took sufficient time to compliment me on getting as far as I have. I gotta tell you, that feels really good to hear that.

I'll keep you posted friends.

this is how I looked after a full day of christmas shopping. I am pretty swollen. I'll post my arms before and after later.

Dee- You are a shadow of your former self! You really look wonderful and you still have some swelling to go. I'm so happy for you. We have missed you on the forum and been thinking of you.

I am sorry about your best friend. His timing is rather interesting, I must say. After all your months of weight loss, coupled with the highly effective surgery - and this is when he bails on you? Perhaps the new you is a bit scary to him in some way.

I will do my very best to join you all on the 11th!

Mary

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
