So I had my surgery on March 25. I am having trouble getting all the liquids down. My stomach feels so weird. I feel like it is having contractions/spasms. Also, the air is trapped and I can not burp! :/. I have tried mylicon drops and gas-x, but nothing is working. I am on Clear Liquids and taking very small sips (1 ounce every 10min). It's just uncomfortable when I sip I can feel it go down and it wants to come back up as a burp, but then it just sits there. I have been walking trying to release the gas, and this is NOT helping. Also I feel empty. I have been shaking and just feel weak. The emptyness is almost as if my body wants solid food to feel full. I am going to stick to the diet progression because I do bot want to hurt myself. Any Suggestios???

I was sleeved on the 26th. I'm getting about 45 oz down. Tomorrow I'm defiantly getting 64 down as my goal. (Well, today). I would try standing and sipping if you haven't already. Do one sip then walk around a bit then take another sip. And take deep breaths. That seems to help me make room or just in my mind lol. Maybe sip and go up a few steps. Good luck to you

I had spasms/contractions for the first week. Pretty bad the first few days and then they became less severe as the days passed. Warm herbal tea and warm broths helped a lot. Cold liquid would exacerbate the condition for me.

I'm having the same problem (sleeved 3/26). I finally got a whole Protein Drink down yesterday, but it has been really slow going. The spasm thing has been awful. I've been trying to do something warm first (tea, broth) to help calm things down, and I'm drinking everything else at room temp.

My doc's plan is for me not to have shakes until 14th day! :(. I am literally drinking Water, unsweetened tea, broth, and chipped ice! I wish I could have something more filling. I have an emptiness like my body is telling me it needs food! Like my nausea is from not eating!

Try warming the water... Not hot, but like you'd heat a baby's bottle. I found cold things did that to me, even room temp. Add a little green tea if the warm Water is too gross

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
