I am 10 months out and the loose skin on my arms and legs are driving me crazy. I am a recently single mother and cannot afford the gym. Does anyone have any at home tips they could give me to help tighten that back up?

I just consider my loose skin as a good escape plan if a plane goes down or if I need to jump from a burning building! I would float ll the way down. But mostly you can run or walk the block and that'll help. Or buy some weights and use those or use stuff lying around to work out with.

you might need more high intensity workouts to build muscles. things like squats and wall pushups or regular pushups on the floor since you can't afford a gym membership. have you checked out youtube? they have lots of great workouts you can do at home.

can you purchase weights? what i've been doing is just buying 1 weight and using it for both arms, and when i need to increase the weight, buy 1 again at a higher weight (that way you save a little bit of money)

LOL. This made me laugh my butt off (unfortunately I almost put someone's eye out with my loose skin while doing so...).

I'm 10 months post-op too, and down about 130 lbs, with another 50+ to go. The loose skin is really starting to ramp up now, and I knew it would. I have spent my entire life (since at least age 12) morbidly obese. That poor skin has been stretched WAY beyond the ability to bounce back!

I KNOW I will need surgery on my bat wings (arms), legs, upper and lower abdomen and breasts. Of course I will have to PAY for all of that, and I can't afford it right now. But a little bit at a time, and the meanwhile, I cover it up as best as possible.

Fortunately my husband is VERY supportive and tells me it doesn't matter to him (he's overweight too, is losing also (without VSG) and will have his OWN loose skin to contend with!).

Loofas, sugar and salt scrubs should be your best friend. Scrubbing a few times a week on flabby areas will help. Also I dont care what anyone says using compression garments help. I use them and have noticed a drastic difference. Also, lotion, lotion, lotion and did i mention lotion? Cocoa butter or a skin firming lotion is the key. As for the working out, using a 2 to 3 pound weight daily helps, if at some point you wish to build muscle then use a greater weight. Also, if your low on cash, use some milk jugs, fill them till you feel mild resistance or weigh them. Hope this helps ;)

At my job we teach people to do the Soup can work out, You do the reps but take 30 seconds to lift and 30 seconds to put it down. It's not about how much weight you use but how long you take to do the movements. It's low weights with lots of repetition.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
