Then eat your trainer! Any how I'm 6 months out. I find if I stay at 500 calories I gain or stay the same. If I get my intake up to 1200 I lose lots. Like two lbs. so yes get your calories up!

When did you have your surgery?

You will need to up your calories if you are working out hard. Usually with a trainer you will work out harder than you will on your own. You won't gain weight, you need more calories bc you burn more calories. You can start by adding an extra Protein Drink.< /p>

Im ok with 900-1200 but thats it... even if I wanted to I cant eat more bc im full...

I mean working out should help either way loose fat n gain muscle.. its not like im starving myself...so hopefully a combo with my eating n working should speed up the process... bc im not really loosing pounds right now

Monday I went to my dietician and was at a stall. I was reinforced to increase my Proteins and not skip meals 5-6 small ones a day and at least 64 oz of H20

It worked.. I am down 2.5 lbs today!

You won't gain with working out.In fact, if you don't eat enough calories you will have a hard time losing and will most likely get stuck in a stall. Also, the weight training is going to help tremendously with firming up your muscles and giving you a toned look. That along with the cardio will work great!

Depends on when you had surgery. I was easily eating 1200 calories at 6 months and last summer while training for 3 triathlons, I was eating 1700-2100 calories a day....without any problem!!! Now, if I was told to eat those calories in meat and vegatables I would be dying!!! But if I supplement with Protein bars and shakes, it's easy.

You also need more carbs when you are woking out hard. Carbs are stored as glycogen in your muscle and glycogen is what's used to fuel your muscles. If you work out hard or for a long time and you don't get enough carbs, you can start to feel sluggish.

I don't subscribe to the whole low carb thing. Our bodies were developed to run efficiently on a proper balance of carbs/protein/fat. Eating more calories doesn't make you gain weight if your body is using these nutrients efficiently.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
