First meal at a restaurant

Recommended Posts

Thankfully' date=' I have a fit, but hungry man with a huge appetite. I highly doubt he'd allow my plate to sit there with tons of un-eaten food lol

But I'm only a week out. No experience with it yet.[/quote']

And CONGRATS!!!

I am 6 weeks out and my husband and I always decide what to share and then we order one dinner. It is saving crazy amounts of money. He has an Adonis body, so he can eat whatever he wants. Through this surgery, I love him even more than I did before. I eat so little of whatever order, but he still insists on my input on what we eat. :)

That is so cute. My mother in law had bypass 5 years ago and she and her husband always split a meal, too. He doesn't have a huge appetite either. However, I worried about doing this with my fiance because he DOES have an appetite. Or maybe I'm just underestimating just how little I'll be able to eat! Lol. Oh and you're 6 weeks out and can go to restaurants? What kind of things and how much of it CAN you eat when you go out?

You may be underestimating. :) We have a favorite Mexican restaurant here locally. We usually order the fajitas. The ones we like have steak, chicken and shrimp. I can eat 5 or 6 pieces of meat and a couple tablespoons of refried Beans. The fajita servings are so large at this restaurant that we order the single order and always have some to take home. If we go to a steakhouse, he cuts me a corner of his steak off and I eat some if the veggies. We have eaten BBQ, too. That night my husband and my son got a platter for two, and I just picked off of that.

I haven't had any issues eating anything since my 6 weeks were up. I am now almost 8 out. As long as I chew really well, I have been able to eat anything so far. I haven't eaten bread, rice, Pasta...or really anything high in carbs, though. I have heard that rice is really tough for sleepers to eat. Everything else I just avoid because of the carbiness! ;)

That so Beautiful. My hubby is great too. I will

Try the idea of ordering 1 meal to share. I'm

3weeks post op and plan to go out next week.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
