Is anyone having a food funeral?

Recommended Posts

My surgery is March 19, I have been on liquid pre-op since Jan. 10, I have lost 26 pounds even though I was never told to lose any weight. To begin with I was barely a 40 BMI which is what my insurance requires. Now that my surgery is right around the corner I have been breaking the diet periodically. I plan on getting back on track tonight for dinner and then all tomarrow. Monday is my bowl prep day so I surely wont break it that day. I, of course have been feeling guilty but at the same think I should live it up while I can. Am I wrong?

I'm scheduled for April 1st, I've thought about it, but afraid if I gain any weight my doctor won't do the surgery....well I did have a coke with my dinner last night instead of Water, but surely that doesn't count haha.

I did my food funeral before starting my pre op diet.. I was on that for a week.. so the day before that started.. I went to texas roadhouse for a nice prime rib lol... but the beauty of it all.. I can only now eat a 1/3 of that if even that.. still will be tasty..but just will have lots of leftovers for sure.. havent been out to eat yet.. still enjoying the fact I cannot eat much at all..and how much food doesnt interest me at all anymore...

I wish I knew then what I know now! I went crazy before my pre-op diet and gained 12 pounds because I was freaking out about never eating again like I want! Fettuccine Alfredo, pizza ,chips, some more chips LOL subs... I'm 3 months post op and If I did it all over again I would have not done it like that. Today I can eat fettuccine Alfredo, pizza, chips the only difference is the amount! congrats on your upcoming surgery this is gonna be the best thing you have ever done for you self

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
