I am just over 3 weeks post op and still in the soft & mushy phase. I found two new recipes this week that are super yummy and loaded with Protein.< /p>

banana bread shake

1 scoop of vanilla Protein Powder

1/2 cup skim milk

1/2 Water

1/8 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon oats

1/2 large or one small banana (I freeze mine)

6 ice cubes

Coming from someone who literally gags down Protein Shakes each morning, I was super happy to find this!

1 pound ground turkey

4 tablespoons of taco seasoning (I buy this in the huge jar from Costco) I think this is also equivalent to one taco seasoning packet, but not sure

1 can of refried Beans

Shredded cheddar cheese

Cook up the turkey and drain all of the juice. Add the seasoning mix and set aside. In a bowl, put the refried beans and stir it up so it is spoon’able. Spoon the turkey into 10 Glad mini round containers (1/2 cup size), or whatever you want to store it in. Spoon on top of that the refried beans. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, pop the lid on and into the fridge they go. When ready to eat, pop one into the microwave for about a minute, and voila! Super yummy!

So I just started full liquids today. I tried some plain Greek yogurt dressed up with some Splenda, vanilla extract and cinnamon. It was quite tasty! (at least I think so) I haven't been okayed to start Protein Drinks yet so it was nice to have something with some Protein in it.

Sounds really good! I have a hard time with shakes too, but I'll give this a try. Thanks for the great ideas!!!

Tried microwaved cheese the other day...tastes like cheese crackers! Cut 2% sharp cheese stick into 1 inch pieces and place on microwavable plate. Microwave on high for a minute or minute, 15 seconds (depending on microwave). When you take a knife and scrape it off the plate, it will break up into pieces and taste like cheese crackers. Delicious!!!!

Here's a recipe for high Protein Peanut Butter....it's very tasty.......... :)

Recipe #1: All-Natural, Time-Released, High-Protein Peanut Butter

Ingredients

3 Tbsp All-Natural Peanut Butter or Almond Butter

3 Tbsp Water

1 Scoop vanilla BioTrust Low Carb Time-Released Protein powder

Stevia (to taste)

Directions

Mix all ingredients with a spoon in a bowl until smooth. Voila! Makes 2 servings.

Nutrition Facts per serving:

173 calories

18g protein

12g fat

8g carbs (5g fiber)

Eat it off the spoon (Mmmm), spread it on a piece of sprouted grain bread...use it like you would any other peanut butter...only now it's SUPER peanut butter :)

Recipe #2: High-Protein chocolate Peanut Butter

In the mood for that Reese's taste but without all the calories and sugar? Just take the above recipe and swap out the vanilla Protein for chocolate BioTrust Low Carb protein. Talk about delicious! Peanut butter cup goodness!

Recipe #3: Cinnamon Raisin High-Protein Peanut Butter

Here's another fun (and delicious) twist to the original high-protein peanut butter recipe above. Just add a heaping tablespoon of raisins along with cinnamon (to taste) to the original ingredient list. Talk about delish!

They are more of a texture thing when they are cooked this way, very mild taste that's why I suggest extra firm and dry frying.. After you do this part then you can marinade them they will soak up any flavor! The ones I cooked today the family just munched on plain and with hummus.

And it's ok to go slow eating :) take your time and just introduce one new thing at a time, tofu may be not be on your menu for a couple of more weeks..

I really like the idea of these with hummus -- I love hummus, but didn't know what to eat it with. Thanks!

My 3 favorite go-to's lately are turkey Jerky (13 grams Protein per ounce), tilapia filet (26 grams Protein per filet) and soy nuts (roughly 11 grams protein per ounce). I really try to maximize my itty bitty sleeve with the most protein I can get in. In between those I do nutriblasts (shakes with nutribullet) to get my fruits and veggies.

I thought about doing just that with my Nutribullet. I have to get some veggies in somehow and I think doing the shakes with veggies, a bit of fruit to add better flavor and some Water are the way to go. Do you have any favorite recipes?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
