I just want to say great job to everyone. Today i am feeling so depressed. The scale hasnt moved, its not been long but already i am worried. I need smaller clothes but am afraid to buy them. What if i gain the weight back and now my clothes dont fit again. I can hear my mother in the back of my mjnd telling me 8 weeks out and only 37 lbs, i told this wasnt going to do anything for u and next ur just gonna gain it back everyone does. I am waiting to fail just like always. I needed to vent these feelings cause getting rid of them helps and i hope by not being afraid to put it out there and ask if anyone else fears these things or for some helpful words, i cant get my heade straight and not sabatoge myself

8 weeks out and you've lost 37 lbs. That is great progress! If you are eating the right foods, and not over-eating you have nothing to worry about. The weight will not return. If you are not receiving the encouragement you need from friends or family, you are welcome to log into this forum and discuss your concerns.

Keep up the great work!

I had a great 10 week appt. Yesterday! Pre surgery I started at 277, I weighed in yesterday at 221. Its slowed down a lot I only lost 14 in the past 4 weeks. I'm ok with that. I really only have 40 more to reach my personal goal

287 1/29/13 Started Pre-opt diet

270 2/19/13 Surgery Date

242 4/24/13 Current weight

I've lost a little more in the last to weeks, I started upping my calories and not stressing out about every little thing I put in my body. I have always gotten at least 60grams of Protein in, but never hit my Water goal. I've been on a million diets and all of them say water water water and I've never been able to drink enough, I do my best. I don't exercise everyday but when I do it is usually very intense. It feels great to have some weight off and can't wait for the rest to come off. I've started Karate lessons which is an awesome workout, I'm still one of the biggest in the class but they don't make you feel like it. They don't push you to do things you can't, they just want you to do your best. I would recommend Karate to anyone who wants something really fun and different. I hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work, we are still at the begining of a new life. :)

On average I'm getting 60 grams of Protein daily or more- drinking about 50 ounces of Water daily.. and the only new thing going on is I've been adding veggies.. thanks for any advice:/

DOS 2/20- 233 lbs

Current- 206 lbs

Total 27 lbs lost

I eat about 800 cals a day and walk/jog for exercise. If I was super strict, low carbs and worked out harder I would be down more but I average about 2.5 -3 lbs a week. Only had one stall for one week. Very happy so far, looking forward to onederland within the next few weeks!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
