  10. So at my highest weight I was 280 surgical weight 260 surgery date 2/5/13 current weight 221. I'm averaging about 2-3lbs a week. I consistently burn over 2000 calories a day and take in about 900 calories a day. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week for at least an hour and I'm a nurse that works 3 12 hour shifts a week and am constantly on the go while a work....Wish I was losing faster than I am but I'm very happy with the weight loss so far....I love my sleeve

  25. I totally agree, I'm a nurse and there are always goodies laying around the nurses' station. Yesterday there was two boxes of colossal donuts (they are these huge yummy donuts) and I could care less if I had one or not... Thanks goodness....
  26. JessicaAnn I would ask your surgeon because the hormones in the nuvaring could cause blood clots (one of the side effects of most female birth control) and with that and just the general risk of clots post op they may want you to stop a few weeks prior to surgery, but every surgeon is different so ask your surgeon....
  27. my surgeon told me not to use my birth control for a month post op due to the risk of blood clots....

  30. So excited I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down 25lbs since my preop appointment. I was sleeved on 2/5
  31. All I can say is WOW at my preop appointment with my surgeon I was 274lbs and today I stepped on the scale I was 249lbs. My surgery was just over two weeks ago and I feel amazing. I go back to work tomorrow which is a little nerve racking because I know how important it is to get my water in and I'm a nurse on a busy med/surg unit, but I went from wearing a 3XL scrub to a 2XL scrub since surgery. I can't wait to wear scrubs that I haven't been able to get into in over a year. I can honestly say the worst part that I had was my first two days post op, other than that I have felt great. I'm excited to see what is going to happen as I continue my journey with my new sleeve and my new life....
  32. I unfortunately did not get sleeved by him (because of my insurance) but many nurses have, I've have talked to him in detail about my journey and he is just amazing....
  33. I live in Annapolis but had my surgery done at GBMC in Towson by Dr Moen, on 2/5... Tabbak, I work at AAMC and Dr Gandsas' patients come to the floor I work on post op he is an amazing doctor...
  34. Kimkai I have Kaiser too make sure you don't have a copay or coinsurance because then you will have to pay that prior to surgery I ended up paying my $400 deductible and another $638 for my 10% coinsurance. Which I wasn't aware of until two weeks prior to my surgery....
