Where's Butter the Bean?

Here....yes I have one and use it. My recipe (or at least one of them) is in my sig. But you can do lots of things with them. Yes they are pricey, but when the zombie apocalypse hits and destroys the planet...this thing will still be going strong (with use of a generator of course). It will liquify an avocado pit....it's pretty bad ass. When you make Soup, if you leave it on high for a minute the soup comes out hot already. It spins that fast.

I would not buy such a fine piece of equipment simply to get you through a few weeks/months post op... BUT if you're interested in using it over the long haul then a Vitamix can't be beat. I want one in the worst way. My grandmother had one for over 20 years and it was AWESOME!!!!!! It is way WAY more powerful than a regular blender and can be an extremely valuable tool for a healthier lifestyle.

If use a regular blender frequently and find yourself wishing it would do a better job, then go with the vitamix.

Does the Ninja heat Soup?

Does the Ninja heat Soup?

Ummm, no. The Vitamix & the Ninja are both great devices, but they do operate differently.

The Vitamix depends on an uber fast & powerful motor to completely liquify whatever is put in it. This design uses a lot of energy & friction which are converted to heat

The Ninja utilizes a proprietary blade design, it does not spin as fast as the Vitamix & therefore does not create the heat.

I can tell you the Vitamix does make a better smoothie, & will last longer. But unless you plan on making smoothies everyday you have to decide if you can justify a 500 blender

I love my Vitamix! Had it for several years. Not using it right now- I'm three weeks out because it puts to much air in my Protein smoothies. I love green smoothies and look forward to then when I can tolerate more. Blendtec are also amazing as well. Either one will last you for many years. They make perfect margaritas too (or so I've heard :-P ).

I have a vitamix as well and use it heaps.

I have kids under 10 who like green smoothies now. It's a great way to get your greens and Fiber. I make almond butter, just using almonds and nothing else.

I make icecream with frozen bananas, frozen berries and some Greek yoghurt.

I made a granita for a dinner party the other night. Frozen grapes and cubes of frozen apple juice. It was a huge hit.

And like Beck said clean up is so quick.

I'm a big fan.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
