Miso Soup..... All Gone! Did I hurt myself? Im scared!

Hi, so I was sleeved feb 25th-- so Monday will be 2 weeks-- I'm slow to move from phase to phase- I'm scared to hurt myself somehow-- so I am still doing Clear liquids only--- Water, Isopure premade drinks, Popsicles, Jello, and every few days chicken broth.

We went out to sushi king and my spouse got 2 rolls and I got jasmine tea and miso Soup .... This is the very 1st I deviated from the above reg 'schedule of foods' lol

I ate my whole bowl!!! In like 15-20 min-- minus the seaweed and full pieces if tofu!! It scared me after!! Why was I able to eat all that-- I'm really worried... Plus ... Honestly without thinking I was drinking my hot tea w it... Then when I only had a few spoonfuls left.. I was like.. Oh s**t I drank and ate and I are my whole bowl!!

I'm really very worried now...

I ate and drank

I are it s and no issues

:(

You didn't really eat and drink, you drank a savory brothy soup, basically like chicken broth. Also, warm liquids seem to be much easier digested especially when you are early in your recovery. Don't worry, you are fine, it is really hard to over do it when you are on liquids, your polyvoric valve is essentially not closed at all when you drink, so it basically all drains into your intestines. If you over did it, you would feel very uncomfortable, and have 'sliming' which is basically like saliva bubbling up from the back of your throat. That would have been followed by vomiting. You will be fine :)

Did you EVER think you would say those words... "I'm worried because I ate and I drank"!!!! I can feel your anxiety over it, but it just seems so opposite to what you probably never ever even considered as a problem before your sleeve! You will be fine... listen to your body... it didn't hurt, you didn't vomit, and you are here to tell us all about it... sounds like all is well!

Let your sleeve be your guide. Eat until you feel satisfied, NOT full, then stop. Do NOT wait 20-30 minutes until the feeling subsides and go back to finish. If 2-3 hours later you feel hungry again, then eat.

That's what my surgeon told me.

Miso soup (bits strained or removed) was on my plan from 3 days post op ... stress less my friend :)

negatory. You didn't do anything wrong, exept for you might have slowed down some.
