Sleeved on the 7th. The gas pain was the ultimate bi...but now I'm doing better. I get gas when I drink to quickly and the right side where he removed the excess stomach still hurts. My surgeon only wants me to focus on getting my fluids in and then Protein Shakes start on Friday. Trying to keep up with my fluids and Vitamins head hunger does appear throughout the day. My family had pizza last night but the smell made me nauseous.

Today was such a better day! Had to take my son to the dentist, and my mom came with. We took him to McDonalds, oh the smells were torture! Took him back to school then did a little shopping. Was sooo nice to get out and walk someplace other than pacing in my house! I do think i overdid it a little bit as i'm extra sore so going to take some pain meds today. I think i'm starting ( note starting) to get a grip on this head hunger thing, though for some reason i keep looking up recipes on pintrest  . I just wanted to tell everyone to hang in there, this is such a hard and highly emotional time for all of us. But we can do it! when you think of the big picture 3 weeks of liquid really isn't that long, even though it feels like an eternity!! And remember when you are at your wits end, sometimes it's best to just take a nap! Love to all!!

Hi everyone so I went to the Dr. Today lost 13 pounds I am very excited but I still want real food. But next Wed I get to start my puree food so I am happy about that. But this stage is so hard not being able to have nothing but liquids sucks.. I am so happy that my gas pains are a lot better today and walking n Gas-X really helps.

Sleeved on the 4th which was a week ago yesterday. Weigh in before surgery was 253 and I am at about 235 right now. One night hospital stay and then pain meds for two days. Started sleeping on my side and belly night 3 so I was a lot more comfortable. Gas pains do suck but chewable Gas-X helps. Just chew the hell out of it before swallowing. First three days, no supplements and felt like crap then I started with chewable multi 2X/day and calcium citrate 2X and feel a lot better. Drinking mostly 1/2 Isopure mixed with 1/2 either Gatoraide or Vitamin Water. Also discovered shrimp bullion cubes. Sounds gross but tasted oh so good to me. Drank about 6 ounces in 1/2 hour today and felt beyond full. Bad idea. Went back to work today. Little tired and sore plus my scars didn't feel all that great rubbing against a dress shirt but it wasn't all that bad. Decided that my first meal is going to be a mashed up banana; something thrilling to look forward to. Don't feel hungry at all. Popping Listerine Breath Strips all day. Glad to see everyone doing so well.

What did the doctor say??

Hey I seen my doctor today. My pressure was great ( she checked it twice)! She said it may have been from the anesthesia and pain meds. She was nt too concerned since it happened once. Thanks for being concerned :-)

I was sleeved on the 7th and yes, the first 24 hours sucked so much. I had so much pain and nausea. Its all gone now. No pain, nothing. I am not tired at all. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. I wish I could go back to work already! Those pizza Hut slider commercials though are a form of torture. I can not tell if I am actually hungry or not. Its weird....anyone else?

I drink the protien shots. They are a bit to sweet but I work it out. I am so bloated with this gas. I just want to get through this week. Who said they lost 35 pounds already. WOW. I want that to be me. I lost 8 in the week pre op diet but I gained 10 during the stay at the hopital.

Where do I find this Unjury broth. Does it have protien is that why it good to drink it?

It hurts to sit stand and lay down too. I found a position and took a 2 hour nap. I can't wait to feel better.

I was thinking the same thing!!! Wow!!! I was sleeved on 3/4 and have only lost 8 and that's working with my weight day of surgery till now. I read all these comments of 20-35 pounds so far and I'm like what the heck am I doing wrong. Don't get me wrong a pound a day is good but like everyone I just want it to melt off.

Most people are counting their weight loss from the beginning if their sleeve journey starting usually with their pre pre op diet. For example. I was sleeved march 1 but I started my low fat low carb diet about 1 month before and then did the liquid diet 2 weeks before surgery. On surgery day I was down 20 lbs and now another 15.

My surgeon didn't have me do a pre-op diet. The only liquid day for me was the day before being sleeved on the 5th. My weight day of surgery was 290 and today's weight is 276. So excited !!!!!

Hi everyone. I was sleeved 3/4, went home the next day. No real issues besides the normal gas issues until today. Went to get my staples and drain taken out. Had a bit of trouble with the drain, when they went to pull it out it ripped the incision open more. Didn't feel to good. They ended up having to stitch it up. From the start of my preop diet I'm down 42 lbs. 20 since surgery. And none of my clothes fit anymore but I guess that's a good problem to have ;0)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
