So I have sleeved on Dec. 12 and lost about 45 pounds by the end of January. My problem is that I've only lost 3 lbs since then. I work out, I watch my caloric intake, I tried increasing my Protein and Water content, but none of it helps. I know plateaus are normal, but it's more than a month and this is beginning to feel ridiculous. Any advice or words of wisdom?

Thanks,

~Sarah

Been there... Still there! SD 12/14

Maybe it's the curse of Christmas surgeries.. I gave up weighing myself. I'm hoping one day my clothes will just fall off me and then I'll know I've broken the stall

At least I'm not alone. I should probably stop weighing myself, it's just adding to my frustration.

My doctor explained to me that weight doesnt come off as we think of it , in small bits at a time. He said that at first it is happening so fast that it seems that way. As we begin to slow our weight loss it happens more in chuncks. It has to do with the conversion of fat so it can be lost.. He said to definitely stop weighing every day. I was like an addict, it was so exciting for a while. Now I'm lucky if I drop a pound in a wee, but I have noticed that when I lose it's more like nothing for two weeks and then three gone. Everyone is different, if you know you are sticking to a good plan, just be patient, it will pay off.

Sarah- Are we destined to be sleeve buddies or what? I was sleeved on 12.12.12 as well... Looking at your ticker we have alike stats! I am in a big plateau as well right now... Not really sure how to break it!

If you're working out a lot, hopefully you're still dropping fat and adding muscle. If so, it will not be reflected so much on the scales, but more in body fat % and maybe even in inches. How are your clothes fitting? Still getting looser? You're right, maybe cut out weighing yourself or limit it to once a month, when you hit a stall or add muscle, the scales can drive you nuts. Hang in there and keep doing the right thing and good luck!

I'm at a plateau too. Hopefully I am losing fat and gaining muscle. I know that's a good thing but I still want to see the number on the scale go down! I have lost 75 pounds since my surgery nov. 28. So I guess I shouldn't complain but this plateau sucks!

It helps to know I'm not alone, and that I seem to be in track even with the plateau.

Knowing that it comes off in chunks rather than slowly helps me understand a little better. I'm going to try and weigh myself once week or once very few weeks. That way I'll stop driving myself crazy. I think I'll just keep working out and try to pay more attention to how my clothes are fitting. (I know my legs are getting smaller.) At some point ( hopefully soon) the scale will catch up.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
