Update for Jan 2013 sleevers - how is everyone doing in March

Recommended Posts

Hello monthly sleeve-mates! Just wanted to see how everyone is doing as our Jan group has been quite quiet!

My sleeve was Jan 16. Today (Mar 4) is 2 days away from finishing 7 weeks and my data is:

- 46 lbs down from dat of surgery

- 69 lbs down from first doc appt Nov 15

- 85 lbs down from max of 373 on Oct 7, 2012

Onto normal foods. liquid is at high level of intake but if under 2L a day I get a gout attack! Ouch! Protein is nice and high. Definately feel the restriction with regular food, but am very cautious of slider type food as goes down too easy and too much. Not trying to do so, but just observing my bodies reply. Looking forward to hitting century down mark in March or early April!

How are you all doing

I'm 6 weeks out and have lost 35. I'm still not taking the Vitamins, eating Protein like I should and definitely not drinking like I should! I have daily headaches and I feel exhausted! I'm trying to improve my diet but I had nausea so bad after surgery that I'm afraid the vitamins will make the nausea come back. Water still makes me nauseated. My dr is aware. He says give it time and it could take up to 3 months for the nausea to go away. I know I need to start vitamins and attempt to get all protein and fluids in but I hate being nauseated! Any suggestions?

I had my sleeve Jan 9. I am down 21 lbs since the surgery and 35 lbs total. I am very happy. I get all my Protein and vits in. I still have trouble getting all my liquids in. I went out to eat 4 times last week and still lost 2lbs! I first for me.

I was sleeved 1/29 and I'm down 33 pounds including pre-op diet. I'm thrilled that I've had zero complications and I love my sleeve but I'm stalled and a little frustrated. I get all my Protein and fluids easily and probably too much exercise! I know it will pass and will just continue to do my best but its hard!

Sleeved on January 28th, so I am 5 weeks out. Have lost 21 pounds from surgery. Feeling great, can drink easily and tolerate everything. I'm following the nutrition guidelines for Protein and calories and exercising at least 5 days a week. I do wish the weight loss was a little faster, there were 2 weeks that I didn't lose a single pound. But overall I'm very happy with this and feeling great with all of this energy.

I'm with you, sleeved on the 21st and down 20 pounds. The scale bounces up and down daily. I wish I knew the magic number my body wanted in Protein, carbs, calories. it's been VERY slow after the first 15 pounds and I'm trying to stay positive, but it's hard.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
