New here and with an insurance question

Hi, my name is Kim and am on my 6th visit, was contemplating RNY but really think I am going with the sleeve. I quit smoking about a year and a half ago but have been using the ecig/nicotine until last week. I quit it also last week so my question is, "will Bcbs highmark test a person for nicotine before surgery?" I have two and a half months left for surgery, wonder if the nicotine will be out of my system? I am really getting scared as time gets closer, love reading everybody's posts :)

I think it will be out of your system by then. Im an exsmoker to and I have same insurance. The insurance didnt test me but the dr did. I had quit2 weeks before surgery and I must have passed cause I got the surgery. I did drink alot of OJ and water with lemon to help flush it out. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Thank you Leeann, that sound a little comforting. Lol. I just can't wait to get this surgery, I feel so out of control when it comes to eating. I too, like everybody else just want my life back. Dang, I'm scared though!

You will do great. The begining is the hardest after surgery, you will have some pain but everyday it will get better. The head hunger for me is the hardest, it is still hard to this day and I am 3 months out on 3/4/13. If I can help you in anyway pm me I will let you know what I can.
