My daughter in law is running errands for me, since I just had surgery Thursday. What is the best unflavored Protein that they sell?

If you are looking for a powder, the one with the least taste is egg white powder. Possibly in the baking aisle. WM also has EAS AdvatEdge rtd shakes that are delicious, I still drink them at 13 1/2 months out.

I have only seen one "unflavored" whey Protein mix at my Wal-Marts. Don't think there really is a difference except in "type" of protein. I'd try to get the protein isolate, since I've read that the body absorbs more of this type of protein that other versions available.

A friend of mine just picked up Unjury unflavored protien power, though I don't think you can get it anywhere other than online... good luck!

Keep in mind, unflavored Protein doesn't mean there is no flavor...it just means it isn't vanilla, chocolate or strawberry!

Finding something was a challenge for me. I finally settled on the bullets, some say not the 'best' but it is what didn't gag me and I was off supplements altogether at 2.5 months. Anyway, I drank the bullets (got mine from GNC by the case). They're only about 3.5 oz and that is not much at all. 42 grams of protein and even though the taste was not any better, it wasn't as thick (I'm big on texture!) and I could hold my nose and breath, just like a kid, and take a couple of sips in the morning, at noon'ish and before bed. I'd rinse my mouth out afterwards and survived!!! Good luck and congratulations!

What brand of bullets were you using? I'd love to know for my own purposes. Thanks!

Hi, I just looked it up on their web site, it's been so long, I couldn't remember the brand. I knew I'd recognize it though!! Brand is IDS Sports New Whey 42 liquid Protein. Here is a link to the web site. My favorite, and that doesn't mean you'd want to belly up to a bar and order one....but the least offensive was Blue Raspberry. :D

http://www.gnc.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=liquid%20protein%20shots&origkw=liquid+protein+shots&f=Taxonomy/GNC/13200328&sr=1

If you just go to the GNC site, search for Liquid Protein shots.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
