I had my surgery 6 days ago and I get weaker every day. I had no clue my stomach would feel like this. I never an free from feeling my sleeve and it feels like I am starving! I worry that I am day 6 and showering exhausted me!

My surgery was last week as well. I just walked about a quarter to a third of a mile and I am pooped. In fact I'm laying down resting as I type this. I am struggling to get my liquids in. (My nut puts us on full liquids as soon as we get home). I think it's all normal. If you are staying on top of your pain, walking and resting every few hours and staying hydrated. You ARE doing everything you can- we have to give ourselves time to heal.

I had surgery 5 days ago & I'm so over this incision pain. I walk every hour just to be mobile and to get off my butt bone because it hurts like hell. I drink lots of Water & crystal light and eat more Jello than the law allow. I started drinking carnation essentials with skim milk and I love it. I'm looking forward to eating real food again.

Remember first few days are worst. By day 5 you will progressively start feeling better. You must get your liquids in! I thought I was hungry too but finding most of the time it is I'm my head or tooth acid in stomach. Hang in there. I am 6 weeks out and down almost 30lbs but not ravenous like I used to be. Still get hungry. Still have cravings. It will all be ok

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
