Hi Oklafarmgal, I was sleeved on thursday also. I felt really tired the first day after surgery. I think it has a lot to do with the anesthesia and the pain meds. When I first got home, I just sip some Water and went to sleep. Each time I woke up, I took a sip. Second day I was able to stay up the whole day and get my liquids in. I walk around the house some. Today I feel even better. Each day gets better and better. Oh, my nutritionist had me buy some Vitamin B12. that may help give you some energy back. Remember to get in your Protein and fluids to help with the weakness. I hope you get our energy back soon. Let's rock our sleeves to our goal weight!

I started to get energy back at 2 weeks. Full strength it was 6 weeks. I had to remind myself this was a major surgery. Your strength will come back. I also had to remember everyones body is different so time may not be the same. Best Wishes

I did not start feeling energetic until after my one month post op. my Vitamin D was really low. I have had to take prescription supplements for this before so I was not terribly surprised. But most people on here usually say about 2 weeks.

Noticable energy boost at two weeks....that is when I quit feeling so darn tired and weak. Every day is better and better. Tomorrow is my three week anniversary and this morning, I had enough energy and was able to go for a 15 minute walk!

Give in to your body - let yourself sleep, rest and heal. Great things are coming!

My energy didn't start to come back until about 2 weeks, then really came back at 3 weeks when I began to eat more solid foods.

Thanks everyone! I know it will take time. I do know I am ready to taste something that isnt fruity flavored. Tomorrow I can have strained cream Soups. I hope I like them. Things will get better. Thanks for all your positive comments! Good luck to all of you! !

It definitely takes several days for all the anesthesia to work its way out of your body. Make sure you get in enough fluids. Once I was averaging at least 40 - 50 oz of Water (target was 64 oz) daily I started to really feel better. This was about 1 1/2 weeks out. Initially I thought it was because of the super low calories, but turns out it was hydration.

And, also regularly taking Vitamins. I'm now 2 weeks out and really feel pretty good.

I spent a lot of time napping the first two days and focusing on my needs such as setting up my pill organizer and semi planning my Protein and liquid intake for the day. Also reading, watching TV, reading vst and other blogs and visiting with family has been my main first week rehab focus.

I had surgery on a Tuesday and Friday I was out and about playing tour guide for my friend who flew in for my surgery. If it wasn't for the incisions and the pain in my shoulder from the C02, I really didn't even feel like I had surgery. It was kind of freaky, especially after hearing about how others who had surgery around the same time were doing.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
