Here's a bit of delicate question. Has anyone had sex since being banded? I'm 16 days post-op, and my boyfriend and I haven't had actual intercourse yet, but we've fooled around a couple of times. I'm finding that having an orgasm causes contractions in the abdominal muscles, and it really, really hurts at this point. Is anyone else experiencing this? I wonder how long it will take the adominal muscles to heal from the incisions.

Fianlly am awake enough to post. My surgery went great, I had no pain, only problem was nausea for the first 48 hrs. Diet cordinator told me it was brain and my stomach trying to come terms with the band. I am feeling fine, still on mostly clear liquids as they seem to sit on my stomach better. Drank about a fourth of a portein hot chocolate this morning and have not wanted any thing other than water since.

Biggest problem I have is wanting to sleep all the time. It seems better today and hopefully will gone by tomorrow.

Sounds like all the 31st bandsters are doing good. Will check in again tomorrow.

Hey, Mary,

I'm glad to hear you're doing all right. I had the exact same thing with the nausea for the first 48 hours. And like you, I needed a lot of sleep. I think I took a 4 hour nap every day for the first week in addition to a good 10 hours at night. I hope the gas pains don't sneak up on you in a couple of days like they did with me. Keep me posted on your progress.

I am 7 days post op and haven't 'done it' yet... back in a few and I'll let you know.. tee hee... "oh honey... I need to check something.."

I lost 3.5 more pounds this week!!!!!

And I have been eating some goooooddd food on the Beach.

My NSV today was that I went to go visit my grandmother who hasn't seen me for about 1 month and she was freaking out saying my pants were so loose I looked liket BOSO the clown!!!!

I looked in the mirror and was shocked to see she was right!!! They look ridiculous!!!

She also gave me a new workout outfit that fit me better!

I am feeling good!!!

Congratulations on the weight loss! You are doing great!

Are you getting hungry at all? When is your first fill? I am finding that I am starting to get hungry about a couple hours after eating. And I know I can eat more than 5 oz at a time. My first fill will be on Feb 12.

I have ONE pair of pants that I think are too loose. I had a box ready for storing my clothes that I outgrow (positive thinking here). Anyway, one pair of pants in the box. How nice to see something actually go in there.

Audree, I appreciated your message about the life of the band. That is something that has been in the back of my mind for a while.

sherilynn, I made a really good concoction tonight, I boiled some onion, a carrot, and some broccoli in chicken broth, then added some tomato juice and when it was all soft I blended it. I put a little dollap of sour creme on the top. It was delicious. finished off the evening with a nice cup of tea with non dairy creamer and splenda..and now I am ready for bed..feeling very satisfied!

Oooh yummy. That sounds good. Thanks for sharing.

hey everyone well my surgery was 10 days ago and everything went very well they had to fix a hydel hernia while they were in there but no extra pain I don't guess. I went back to the dr. thursday and I am down 35lbs from my heighest weight.:) :clap2:

I'd like to know if drinking w/meals is ok during this stage as well. I've not listened to that rule yet; but I'm on all liquids. I don't get mushies until 14 days out. I guess I'll be trying every type of soup out there!

I may add cottage cheese tomorrow. Anyone have any suggestions for 'fancy'-ing it up??

I was told that at this stage (from surgery till first fill) that's it's all about learning the bandster rules which means smaller portions, better choices, chewing well, and absolutely no drinks with any meal until 1 hour after meal. It's all about breaking habits and it's a hard one to break! I used to drink a glass of something before, then another during and sipped on another after each meal!

Yes, and it wasn't painful, just not all that comfortable (wasn't bad either!!!!!) and I was about 10 days post op. If it was me, and the first time with someone, I'd wait until I was 100%. There is enough pressure on a new intimate relationship without putting pain in the equation! Of course this is just my opinion.....husband would say where there's a will, there's a way!!!!

35 #'s!!!! That's awesome! I was down 21 pounds from highest.....you blew me out of the water!

I was released to "anything I want" yesterday and I'm afraid to eat. The entire family seems to be watching every bite I take to see how I'm doing and I'm scared to death to PB or worse!

Anyone else scared to eat solid foods?

Also has anyone tried something and it wasn't a good idea?

ya I always loose it fast at first then it comes off slow as Christmas I get fast results for the first month then I catch up to everyone else and get lucky at 2 lbs a week.

Hi and congrats on your great weight loss:clap2: That is wonderful. I lost about 17lbs on my pre-op diet. I had my band on the 30th and I haven't gotten on the scale yet. I am tempted, but I can't just yet. I have really enjoyed reading all of your posts. Have a great weekend-Gigi:)

Hi, just got my band owned, all went well and got home last night. I found out I lost 8lbs since we left for Mexico even though Tue night after the tests there, we went across the street and had the best Mexican food with 2 margaritas each that we have had in a long time. No pain , so no pain pills needed , just a little GAS.. Dr. Kuri was great there were 3 of us guys that were banded on Wed .I got up and started walking right after they took me back to my room. After a few laps around I was walking faster and faster, The Dr. said that he hasn't seen anyone walk so fast and for so long in a long time, he also said this is the best way to get rid of the gas faster..Ted

HELL YES, I'm terrified of solids foods at this point. Can't even have mushies until 2/15...but even they scare me. My thing is that I'm so afraid of PBing. I know it's bound to happen; I just don't want it to!

I suppose I better stop drinking with my soups at this point; again to break the habit!
