I think my will helped me speed things up for me' date=' I was so sick of being fat I just kept pushing. One year on I've now dropped 49kg & am now working on slowing the weight loss down![/quote']

Really?? I LOVED being fat! :P

Seriously though great weight loss! Can't wait to be there some day (I'm only 3 months out) :)

I was told I couldn't shave 4 days before the surgery which sucked because I got married 2 days before my surgery and spent that night at a hot springs. But I didn't cave I didn't want anything to interfere with getting my surgery. I biggest fear came true though I was on my period durning surgery so I did wear hospital undies and they ended up not giving me a catheter so I guess I was lucky there. I would say if you are really worried about it get it waxed. :)

NO unders. No catheter either. My surgeon didn't go below the belly button. I didn't shave or anything either... I wasn't trying to date him.

I had no catheter. Wish I did. After surg, I was vomiting HARD every 15 mins, all night long. As I had a continuous IV drip, every time I threw up I pee'd all over the bed. It was like a river. It was HORRIBLE!!! Re trimming, nothing crazy just a normal trim job.

You don't shave because if you do get nicked or something, you could get staff infection or some other kind. You don't want to deal with surgery then something on top of that!

They don't care what you do down there, they have truly seen thousands and don't pay much attention. They have to much to worry about, than to worry if you shaved or waxed down there. As far as a catheter, I didn't have one. I don't think anybody really needs a catheter. I was able to get up and slowly get to the bathroom and pee with little or no help.

I started my period about 5 hours before surgery so I had to wear those fancy netted panties with a huge bulky pad. I probably did shave a week or 2 before surgery but I wasn't worried about it being hairy or anything. Now that I'm post op I get waxed every 4 weeks. Also they told me not to shave.

I didn't have a catheter for my surgery but when I was wheeled into my room I noticed I was wearing a fabric gown and I had gone into surgery with a thick paper like one. Yeah' date=' here I am with incisions all over my stomach right after surgery and I was distressed to learn that I had been naked on the table while they changed my gown! Lol! Crazy.[/quote']

Haha same thing happened to me when I had arm surgery!! Fell asleep with a paper gown, then woke up with a fabric gown! Also, got up to use the bathroom and found a brown spot on the bed where my bum had been. I asked the nurse if I had shat myself or something and she said, "No it's just iodine from your foley." Um... what from my what?! No one told me they would be violating my pee-hole while I was unconscious!

Oh and my sleeve surgeon doesn't do catheters or drains or barium swallows -- I really lucked out!

Even if they told me not to shave, I had to! A girl has to look her best and my hardwood floors are always polished ;) Does everyone have a cath? I went to Mexico for my surgery and the first thing they said when I woke up in recovery was that they had to take my "intimate" piercing out for safety. I was wondering how they even knew it was there because its tucked so neatly like a pearl in an oyster. A catheter would explain it...hmmm

I had a cathether until the morning after surgery (my surgery was in the late afternoon). I still got up and walked and just carried the cathether bag (I think it was covered up somehow--don't even remember). I had a hard time urinating after they took the catheter out but the urge to go came back eventually. I was grateful for the cathether that first day when it hurt to get in and out of bed. I didn't mind getting in and out to walk but it would have been a bummer to do it to use the restroom too. Plus my legs were plugged in (for blood clot prevention)--so everytime I needed to get up I had to ask for help. I would page them and ask if someone could please unplug my legs and they would crack up.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
