No. March 1st I'm getting way excited. I know its a life commitment, and in a way its kind of scary with all the what ifs. But I'm still gonna do it cause I'm tired of living this way. I live in Payson, so any tips you may have would be great.

Main things are to have faith in yourself and realize getting through the hard parts are worth it. Follow what your surgeon and nutritionist say. Concentrate on getting your Protein in is rule #1. Being active doesn't necessarily mean being in a gym, find ways to work it into your life such as taking stairs, parking clear at the end of the parking lot, etc. Also, start taking Biotin now to help minimize Hair loss. My other recommendation is to get some professional counseling prior to surgery to help you work through some of the issues that cause us to overeat. I am so glad I did that, I only did 3-4 sessions, but it was invaluable. Concentrate on the positives on this website and not the negative things that people say.

I'm here too! 6 days sleeved and loving it! Kaleen, keep a positive attitude and you have nothing to fear! I can't believe how well I feel! My advice.... obviously I'm new at this and I'm assuming you're nervous about the surgery. The first day after surgery was bad :( I had moments of regrets and kept saying I can't believe I chose to do this to myself, lol.... But boy did that pass!!! Get off the narcotics as soon as your able! After they took me off the IV drip the liquid pain medicine they gave me made me so nausious that after the 3rd time of taking it, I refused the medicine and would just rather deal with a little pain. Which honestly isn't horrible!! Nothing a little liquid tylenol couldn't handle. Seriously! You'll be gassy & uncomfortable for a couple days - My surgery was last Thursday the 21st. I went home from the Hospital on Sunday morning and felt okay, little slow to walk and still a little sore - But on Monday, got up put my makeup, did my hair & got dressed and was a new woman. Now, tomorrow is my 1 week surgiversary and I feel fabulous (I'm even bored at home, contemplating going back to work early) lol! Keep a positive attitude and you'll do great!

Thanks Lindy D, I'm 3 days post op now and I just ache. Just a few more days and hopefully I'll feel like a brand new woman, but at the moment I feel like a beaten and bruised one lol. Thanks for the words of encouragement Kaleen

I'm here! I'm in the Uintah Basin, had surgery 10/15/12, lost 87lbs so far! There is some great advice and support on here! Glad to see some Utah people on here :) Hope you're feeling less "beaten and bruised", I think that was the hardest part was the first week and a half after surgery. But it just gets better and better and you'll be constantly surprised by what your new life has in store for you!

Thanks, I'm glad to know there are more Utahns out there. I am feeling better, little at a time. I pulled a stitch a couple days ago and that just stopped hurting so bad. It is great the support and help you find on here.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
