Wow congrats!!! I'm just at 3 weeks post op and for the past week have lost nothing. The first 2 weeks I lost 17lbs. I don't know what to change up. I'm drinking up to 16oz of Water, 1-2 Protein Shakes a day, Jello, and Soups typically. Why an I having a stall?

Hi....3 week post-op stall in normal. Sometimes it's at 2weeks, sometimes at 4. Just type in 3 week post op stall and you'll pull up a TON of info and posts. Also, 17 pounds the first 2 weeks is a LOT. Your body is probably saying "what the $%#!" and needs time to adjust.

Are you on a PPI like Prevacid or Prilosec? I know it might feel like hunger but it almost certainly is acid. It seems to start around week 3 post -op ( at least from the posts I've read here). I thought I was hungry too but it really was acid.....

Everyone is different but it does sound like a stall. Everyone has theirs at different points but try possible increasing your Water intake and see what happens. We get so caught up on Protein that we forget our water, especially in liquids phase. After the stall, i bet you will drop a lot!! dont give up!

Congratulations! You go, girl! Thanks for answering everyone's questions, too! You're an inspiration.

Of course! My Motto is "No big girl (or guy) gets left behind!!!!" If something works for me, i will tell everyone who can also benefit from it. YOLO :)

I am like right at my 2 weeks. I still have the steri strips on, they haven't fallen off and don't seem to be anytime soon:/ I just got a gym membership and a personal trainer and I really want to start. I have been walking but I want to do more. Any suggestions on what I can do? I emailed me doctor and waiting to here back but my PT wants to know when I can start like ab work outs or lifting minimal for resistance. Any ideas help!

theres lots you can do. you can bike, hike, do stairs, begin muscle building and begin strength building in your arms and legs. theres lots of stuff that doesnt directly involve the stomach but easily burns fat in that area. best of luck!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
