Welcome Suzie! It's nice to talk with other single people. I do enjoy it. It's amazing but we all have the same feelings, no matter how much difference we are in age.

Hi Suzzie - welcome!

Ok, I owe you guys a fill-in. I had a date this week with a 29 year old. He was HOT. lol. I don't think he's relationship material but I'd go out with him again just for fun. I figure I deserve some of that.

I have another date tomorrow night, and it's one I'm actually looking forward to if you believe that. lol. We'll see though. I've learned to go in with no expectations so I'm not dissapointed. Sad, huh? lol

Oh and I heard from tattoo boy today. I knew it was just a matter of time. lol. I'm all set there thank you.

So that's it with me really. How's everyone else doing? How are things with you Wootsie??

Hey there...My reply is--you should have some fun and don't expect anything. That is not a sad thing. Many of the Men are expecting the goodies. Make the evening an evening of fun. Thank God you're having fun. Myself--with a simple 25 pounds goine since March 28th banding date. I have a few more looks--flirts. I told myself--the same ones who looked at me side ways when I was at 270--will be the same ones who I ignore. I am going to be soon a 50 yr old single dad of 2 boys. I may start my way back to the dating world. I have a goal--lose 40 more pounds by summers end. I am told that it's impossible. Then again...I was told that I would only achieve 2 pounds a week too---when I clicked off 5.2 per week. How I did it--walking on the treadmill 1 hours when the weather stopped me from riding my bike. Then some crazy workouts--2 times a day--3 days a week---then the next 3 days--single rides--at 3 to 5 miles a day....Love will be there...don't you worry..LL

That's exciting, Crispy! Have you talked to him before, or only emails?

I still haven't posted a profile yet. I'd like to lose 20 more lbs before I get started with that. I lost 5 this week after such a long plateau. I hope it

doesn't take me another 2 months to drop again.

Denise - I think you are beautiful at the size you are so no need to wait! But you do what makes you comfortable. As far as tonight, we only spoke over emails, but they were pretty lengthy and I could tell he was a really nice guy. I just got home and he was very, very nice. I had a lot of fun, and I think we're going to go out again.

I heard from the 29 year old as well. I didn't really think I'd hear back because he's really cute and out of my league a bit I think. lol. My friends hate it when I say things like that. lol But anyway, he wanted to go out tomorrow night but I have wedding so we're going to meet up afterwards for a drink. Should be fun.

Thanks for the reply Lee! I'm all about the fun these days. ;) Sounds like you're doing well with the band!

Thanks Crispy, That picture that you saw is old. I still have about 10 lbs to go down and I'll be at where that was taken. I am not in any real hurry. I look on match and yahoo and there isn't one picture on there that even sparks my interest.

There is another place called singlesnet.com. I paid for a month and they said they had a money back guartentee. So after a month I said I wanted my money back because hardly any men from my area were listed on there.

They ended up giving me a year for the price of a month instead. I may try that again.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
