This is my second stall and I am only 8 weeks post op it is extremely depressing to follow all your doctors orders and even change up your daily diet to see what will and will not work for you on the weight loss journey, This will be my third week in a row with no inches off or weight come tomorrow! I am frustrated and angry at it! I gave up every food I loved and I drink my Water and eat between 450-575 calories a day! I even walk every day at least 30 minutes if not more. So please tell me why I have been between 223-225 for the last few weeks? It makes me want to eat the way i use to but who will i be hurting only myself so why bother I did not come this far to be stuck or even be a sleeve failure! I wont give up but I just need to post the frustration and depressing I am feeling right now! As of this Monday I am putting my scale in a closet to keep from stepping on it everyday so this wont be a regular feeling for me I know I am eating right and getting all my fluids in and sooner or later the scale will move again so Bye bye scale! The scale can do more harm then good I tell you!

Same for me as strange as it sounds...when I stall, I up my calories usually with some good fats like some nuts or avocado. So far its worked every time.

You are doing everything right! And yes get rid of the scale! I wish I could! There are a lot if us slow losers that experience frequent "stalls" you have to just keep on going! We can't give up now right? :)

I was in the same boat. I finally decided to eat a bit more - I am between 800 and 900 calories a day and I have lost 5 lbs in one week. I am down from a size 24 to a 20, almost an 18 and I am feeling better than I have in 25 years. I can't believe the process, and the frustrations.

yes, you may be eating too few calories.. try going to 600 -800 per day more Protein then carbs. i have been around 600 per day but now I am anywhere between 600 - 900.. I lose about 2 - 3lbs a week. I am 3.5 months out.. It is slower loss than most but I am happy with it. The main thing I try to focus on is I am doing this without all of the normal stress.. You know, wanting to eat but ot eating with will power alone.. Such an intense struggle for me.. This has allowed me to eat the 600 - 800 without all the horrible hunger pains I always had before. And knowing I cant eat it that much even if I wanted to has taken alot of stress from me. Hopefully your stall will break soon.

Okay, frustration aside... how do you feel physically? I bet a lot better than you did when you were heavier. Put the scale aside and just take a second to take all of this in. It's not forever, you will lose and you're going to look back at this post and tell yourself "silly girl, if you only knew how great you're going to look and feel very soon!"

Everyone hits the stall stage.. ive heard eating more helps.. but make sure its the Protein first.. I have the same problem.. that maybe im not losing as fast as everyone else.. prolly cuz I dont eat very much.. but im not hungry and its hard with both my jobs... I try.. but im going to try harder..and throw the scale away.. I only weigh at the dr office.. thats too much to worry about.. but like VSGKirk said.. do you feel better with the weight that has come off? I sure do.. give your body some time to catch up.. major thing you did to it.. .. it will all start again.. trust me there... best of luck to you.

You guys are the best, I feel bad for my partner because I just dont want to talk about it shutting her out, Leaving me in a bed bound slump today. I know it will move again I was taking in more it was 600-800 and nothing so I lowered it its like nothing I do works. I know our bodies went through some serious trauma but the lack of weight loss is taking my mental through some serious trauma as well, Heck I would take a pound a week but nothing at all ? I eat 3oz of yogurt for Breakfast Salmon and spinach for lunch and for a snack the other half of yogurt then salmon again for dinner I should be loosing this weight like Water smh I use the rest room all day long feels like every 20-3 minutes i drink so much water so please body respond is how im feeling right now! I hope your right and I can look back at this and laugh at myself for allowing the scale to control my emotions I really do.

Have you had your Vitamin D level checked? My level was extremely low and my endocrinologist said that Vitamin D hides in the fat. She gave me an injection that apparently lasts for 6 months. After a week, it was like a light switch was turned on. I am on top of my game now. Energy and positive attitude like I have never known. Wish I had known this little cure sooner.

UPDATE: I seem to have broken my stall I went as high as back to 228 with the back and forth stall and yesterday the scale went down and today it went down to 223.4 back to my norm thank God now I am hoping within the next two days I drop another pound at least to show my stall is officially over. I have yet to see 222 so once it hits 222 I will feel like im in the safe zone i added another bottle of Water to my intake (making it 4 instead of 3) and also started the Vitamin D drops too , I am trying any advice right now to break this up and down weight loss/ gain/stall I also took myself off the chicken and went back to all fish I needed change in my flavor bad so I went to chicken but all that seem to do was back me up (not to be so graphic) but I seem to be back on track again taking me out of my depression and i am also regulated again in the restroom usage (again not trying to be so graphic) So thank you guys for your support it kept me in a more positive place. I love this site and the positive people on it. THANKS EVERYONE!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
