Aaaaaagggghhhh! Not Feb 14th!

Recommended Posts

I just realized that I'm suppose to start the my pre-op liquid diet on Feb 14th. It's Valentine's Day, but more importantly it's my 22nd wedding anniversary! You think I can have my last hurrah and go to my favorite restaurant before starting the liquid diet on the 15th?

I started mine a few days before Christmas and went through New Year's. I wanted to test myself to see how serious I was about making this change.

Ask your surgeon on 2/12 - he might surprise you and tell you to go for it!

Now I'm torn between waiting a day and cheating the first day. Kirk, you went thru Christmas AND New Years. I like your determination Kirk! I hope to build up to that much! My life shouldn't revolve around food.

It was hard as hell (not going to lie), but it was all up my head - that's the biggest battle. Post op I have had to go to client dinners, shows, concerts, parties and learn to fill my emotional needs with the people and the experience, instead of what I can eat or drink.

THAT, and I've dropped almost 16k into this process, so I have an additional incentive to make it work, LOL!

You're a good role model Kirk! And I guess 16k is a big encentive.

Ok...we can all do this. We all want to be healthier....well at least my mind is being good right now....after a meal of corned beef and cabbage....I know, I know, corned beef isn't the leanest meat, but I did leave off the potatoes that I usually cook.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
