Counting down the minutes

Recommended Posts

So, my surgery date is February 11th. It couldn't come soon enough. I'm currently on day 2 of drinking the Bariatric Advantage shakes. I've had 2 out of the 5 required shakes for the day. It was pretty rough to begin with, but it seems to be getting somewhat easier. I hope I can make it the next 2 weeks. I really want to stick to the regimen. It's just challenging since the shakes are "meal replacements" and I'm not supposed to eat anything. Argh. It's especially hard because everyone at work is taking their lunch breaks and eating actual food. I guess I never realized how preoccupied I was with food. Or maybe I'm just going nuts now because I can't have it.

I just needed to let off a little steam as I sit in the break room while my coworkers have lunch :/ I actually feel somewhat better. Almost time for another shake. Yippy ki yay!!

Congrats on getting this far! I, too, am counting down the minutes until surgery and wanting to eat EVERYTHING. Just remember...you're gonna be a skinny b!tch soon :) :) :) Unfortunately, being skinny doesn't taste like cake....mmmm...cake. ;)

It's all relative my dear! When I started the pre-op shakes I was miserable! Then I had surgery and the first week I would of done anything to go back to my pre-op shake days!!! :)

But, it all gets better and you will be happy you did it!

Oh I must add that I'm a weirdo I like the way Protein Shakes taste and still drink them today:)

You'll really realise how pre occupied with food you are once you're sleeved.

Keep up the good work with the shakes. Take yourself away from food situations. Have your shake at your desk and then go for a walk the rest of your lunch break.

Good luck :)

Before it's all said and done, I may like to taste of them. Who knows!

I'm scheduled for feb 11th also. Pre-op diet has been easy for me because I am so sick with a cold, diahreah, even developed a hemorrhoid. I haven't even been able to drink my shakes. I'm supposed to have 4 a day. Today I had one. I'm trying to drink a lot of Water because I don't want to become dehydrated. Hoping to feel better, this SUCKS!

I feel your pain. I'm a Feb 11th sleever too. I've already started modifying my shakes this week adding a lil Decaf instant coffee in for flavor just to help get through the work day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
