Self-Pay Sleevers

I was self pay and agree it was worth every cent at just under 3 months out. For those of you that were self pay - I am curious to see the difference in rates in different countries. I am in New Zealand and mine was just over 14K USD. That includes compulsory surgeon and NUT consultations for up to 2 years. Curious to see how much they charge in Asia, UAE, and of course the controversial Mexico!!

  • I paid $4,500 in TJ Mexico...most of it came from my tax free 125 flex spending account. No pre-visit hoops and no after care but I'm doing great almost 5 months out.

  • In Washington State, $16K all inclusive, pre-op and 2 years post follow up with Doc and NUT. 1 month out, no regrets.

Puerto Vallarta Mexico, had wonderful experience! Paid 6500 and really only a month wait time! Beautiful hospital and great staff!

Good ol' Tijuana Mexico $4500! Where I live in kansas the price was between $12,500 and $18,000.

I'm in Washingon state, but chose Dr Ponce De Leon in TJ for under $6000 revision.

Recommend MX simple for the fact of their vast experience and care. Also, from all the posts I've read it seems like US dr tend to over anesthetize, over gas and over pain-medicate and is tends to lead to longer recovery time.. Just my opinion

I am in Austin, TX & was quoted $9,900 (surgeon, anesthesiologist, hospital stay over night but psych eval, NUT class , etc was extra but only about $200. Kind of worries me that southwest bariatric's price quote is so much lower than other cities.

Yikes, looking at the other responses, I think I drastically overpaid.

Wisconsin: 23,500- includes 90 days postoperative care. Doesn't include NUT, psych, endoscopy. All together I paid about 28,000.

Austin, TX - Dr. Ganta. I paid around $14,500. It included a year of follow up, the hospital, anethesia, etc etc. Awesome doctor and awesome after care. That was a year and a half ago, but I think the prices are pretty much the same.

9100 in Mexico, once I paid for airfare and everything was about 12K. Worth every penny.

I'm from Louisiana the blood work , X-ray and consultation was 500.00 Plus today I will be giving up 9800.00 for surgery mine is out patient but will need to stay at hotel for two night at 120.00 a night . So all together around 10,600.00 ! I'm a self payer also .

I went the mexico route a little more than 2 months ago and i paid about 4k. No problems no complications and i stayed in a excellent hotel with wonderful service.

6800 in Juarez w/ Dr. Rodriguez. More expensive than the other Mexican locations, but Dr. Rod is dual certified in WLS and endoscopy. So after surgery he scopes you to check everything out. Also he is certified in America, and does surgeries in Las Vegas. I feel very safe and comfortable about this. Airfare from GA for 2 ppl is about 1200 in March. So $8000 total for me.

My husband and I had our surgery the same day in TJ Mexico. We paid $7600 for both of us and $800 for the airfare.

Dr Alvarez in Mexico $8825 total including meals for my husband and we used frequent flyer miles so no airfare.

I am self pay and mine was 14,500 with about 1000.00 more in hospital charges not included in that. This covers one year of check ups.

$8750 for Dr Aceves in mx. I paid for airfare. I was well taken care of. It included 1 hotel night and then 3 nights in the hospital.
