I told my doc I wanted 4weeks off. The first 2weeks is to heal and the other 2 to start a workout routine. Like they say' date=' it takes 21days to create a habit and I am determined in creating good ones. Is a lifestyle change so make sure you give yourself time.[/quote']

I wish I had it but good luck to you. My lifestyle is kind of changing all at once lol!! But in all hood ways.

WOW!! 3 days! I had my gallbladder out in June and that killed me. I had a baby naturally - vaginalky and was walking around right after but gallbladder took me 2 weeks to truly recover :-/ Go figure. Appendix out in 2006- 3rd day I was riding roller coasters.

I really have NO idea what to go by on how I'll heal but only hope it's not like gallbladder.

I was tired, but with a desk job it was manageable.

I took 10 weeks off. Had stomach surgery before and my doctor advised I take it easy. I have a heavy demanding job. Take as much time as you can to come to terms with your surgery and to get yourself focused for the journey ahead

Can you elaborate? I'm praying for no issues.

I Couldn't eat or drink without getting a severe stomach acke and at that time was still on liquids, had severely low blood pressure, dizzy and lightheaded all the time. I Was hospitalalized several times right after my surgery for a week at a time. dehydrated all time actually I still have this problem I'm almost 9 mths out and I get IV fluids twice a week. I Have had a few bumps in the road but i know it could be way worse. And I wouldn't change anything i love my new life and so thankful i got this surgery best thing I ever did. Good luck to you! You will do fine.

This thread has been very helpful since I'm currently unemplpyed (just graduated from grad school) and unsure about the timing of a new job and surgery. My dr's office indicated I should expect a march op date. But, that's a long time to be out a job. But, I don't know about staying a new job and taking so much time off right away.

I was out for 3 days.

Was it difficult to only take three days off,

Because I'm a Uni student and can't afford to take many days off

Go back full time tomorrow the 22nd, so two full weeks per my doc. Did some work-at-home minor stuff last week. I have a desk job.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
