January Newbies ! Progress ?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on the 30th and since I still look like a bloated Oompa Lumpa from all the junk they pump you with during the hospital stay I'm scarrd to go on the scale. Today, my first full liquid day I'm just focusing on getting plenty of liquids, my multi and Protein at a minimum. I think I'll post a loss, if any, at least a week out from surgery (which would be this upcoming Wednesday). Good luck to all the January folks - here's to us starting the year off right!

We got sleeved the same day. I'm down 9 pounds in 3 days. I'm still pretty bloated too. Just concentrating on walking and getting some liquids down.

I had surgery 1/8 So far down 32 lbs. My T.O.M started this week so of course I gained a few lbs in water/bloating, so I'll see next week where I am.

I was sleeved 1-18-13 and getting between 400-600 calories a day - usually about 450-550. I am also curious how many calories every is getting at about this stage.

Hi lovetennis, I was sleeved a day after you and having around the same calories. I'm not hungry for more and losing weight at a decent rate, not too fast, not too slow. I've added lots of excercise in, yoga Tues/thurs, walking on weekdays & the gym on weekends. I feel lighter than the scale says weirdly. It's great tho, I can see how I'm going to reach my goal at this rate.

Thanks! I just got cleared for exercise and will be starting back at the gym this week. It sounds like you are doing awesome! My weight loss slowed way down week 2, but I'm hoping it picks back up this week. I am down 12.5 lbs. My hope was to lose 15 lbs the first month, so I am definitely on track for that. I am satisfied.

hey guys - so its been almost 4 weeks since my surgery (sleeved 1/9)! everything has been going pretty well until this weekend. on saturday i was nauseous for no reason. and now my stomach seems to be extra full all the time and i get nauseous really easily. this has not happened until recently. i haven't really been adding any new foods that could cause this issue, so i'm not sure what's going on. since i felt nauseous, my Water intake was lacking the past 2 days and now today i feel worn out and all around crappy. i'm hoping it is just the lack of water.

i was excited to move on to the new stages of food before but now the thought of food just makes me queasy and it is such a hassle to force myself to eat. anyone else like this?!?

I was sleeved Jan 9 too and twice in the last week I got sick but I think I ate too much too fast. When I feel that way I back up and do a softer diet day of pureed consistency foods and then I feel better. I eat 1000-1200 calories a day and am losing. 22 so far post op. How about you?

I'm still very new sleeved on January 30th. I haven't gotten sick yet but I do get a crazy right chest when I drink cold Water. Does that go away? I have to curl up in a fetal position to get the gas to pass. It always does, but eventually I'll have to leave my house.

I was sleeved on 1/28, my first checkup is on 2/8 so I don't know if I lost anything yet. I still feel bloated from the surgery. I am craving food all the time, but I think that's from seeing my family eat dinner when they get home. I hope this part gets better when I finally get to the soft food stage.

I was sleeved on 1/28. One week has gone by already. Can't believe it. I'm down 9lbs since the day of surgery. I'm feeling pretty good. My steri-strips and incisions are itching like crazy!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
