January Newbies ! Progress ?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 1/07 and I'm down 22 lbs (including pre-op loss). I'm slowing advancing from clear to full liquids. My doctor is extra cautious. I see I'm next Tuesday to get the staples out and I'm hoping he will let me add some soft foods such as cream of wheat. Has any had their staples out yet? If so' date=' how painful was it? I have almost 20[/quote']

Yikes! That's a lot of staples. I only had steri strips under the bandages thankfully. I don't think they will be too painful to remove though. It may sting if I remember right. Hope it goes ok for you.

I was just sleeved on the 14th and I'm down a total of 34 pounds including my two week pre op diet. Can already feel a difference in my clothes and I'm more comfortable in my skin. Had a rough day yesterday with pain and nausea but both have gotten better today. Sipping as much Water and crystal light as I can!

I was sleeved 1/07. Down 18 pounds. On full liquids. Want to eat/ chew something so bad! I have been feeling pretty blah, today I got up, had my first 20 ounces of Water and some milk and went for a walk with my dogs in the 7 degree snowy weather (I live in MN) and I have felt great today. My walk was short (16 minutes) but I still felt good that I did it!

That's great! I really need to get into a routine of daily walks. Time to stop sitting around. Good for you!

Thanks! I have been sitting around and figured today I needed to make a change! I am still amazed at how good I have felt all day!

I have felt good since the day after surgery. Really unexpected. I've been up cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. time to add in some 'me' time and get moving!

I suggest laying on your left side with a heating pad on your belly to help move the gas and of course walk as much as you can!

I had my surgery on the 11th. Down 13 lbs in 6 days. :)

I have been very fortunate and have had no problems at all. (Don't want to jinx myself) I walked on the beach while in MX, went shopping at the mall on MX the day after, came home, cook dinner every night for my family of 6. I've been on a soft/puréed diet since the day left the hospital.

I feel pretty good!

I have steri strips too no staples. When did others steri strips fall off? befor the two week check up? I am six days from purred food thank goodness.I want real food just cottage cheese or mashed potatoes :( How long for others do you have to wait to go from pursed to soft foods? When can others have chicken? ? just asking....

Wow. Way to go everyone!

My sleeve date was January 4. I seem to be slow poke here, so I'll add my pre-op loss to make my total 17 lbs.

My surgery was in TJ, Mexico. The two worst things about my experience were the elbow-crazy girl sitting next to me on the long flight home and some blistering under my steri-strips. Everything else was ginger-peachy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
