  3. I get the hiccups too. I think mine start after I have eaten too much. I usually get a little bit of a runny nose and mini burps when I am satisfied!

  6. I am almost 1 month out from surgery. Down 32 pounds. I have 1 guilt free pleasure that I allow myself daily... A cup of sugar free hot chocolate! Maybe it is bad, but it is about the only sweet thing I like! So, what is your guilt free pleasure???
  7. I took 4 weeks off. If you have short term disability, check with them, they may pay you for taking additional time off. I would also suggest doing FMLA. FMLA is a federal law that is made to protect people's jobs in these cases. You should be eligible for FMLA from day 1, from what I know there is no waiting period.

  9. I live in Elk River about a half hour from St. Cloud. I was just sleeved 1/7/13 at Methodist hospital by Dr. Svendsen.
  10. I was sleeved 1/7/13 by Dr. Svendsen at Park Nicollet. My entire experience was awesome from start to finish! I am almost 3 weeks out and down 30 pounds (including my pre op weight loss). Park Nicollet also has support groups that I plan on attending once I go back to work!

  14. Maybe you need to start smaller, say 2 15 minute walks. Work your way up to more. When I walk, I go 8 minutes and then turn around and come home. Remember, it may not be much, but you are doing something and if you are like me, that is probably more than you were doing before surgery! Stick with it!!!
  15. Both my dogs slept with me. One even sleeps under the covers right next to me.

  17. I suggest laying on your left side with a heating pad on your belly to help move the gas and of course walk as much as you can!
  18. Thanks! I have been sitting around and figured today I needed to make a change! I am still amazed at how good I have felt all day!
  19. I was sleeved 1/07. Down 18 pounds. On full liquids. Want to eat/ chew something so bad! I have been feeling pretty blah, today I got up, had my first 20 ounces of water and some milk and went for a walk with my dogs in the 7 degree snowy weather (I live in MN) and I have felt great today. My walk was short (16 minutes) but I still felt good that I did it!
  20. Have everything you need for atleast the first week post op ready. From liquids to housework.
