I'm 5mths or myself and just wanted to connect with others that at the same Mark. What are you eating and how much of it? What have you lost so far and what's your goal?

I was sleeved on July 31st. Since my pre-op appointment I've lost about 80 Lbs. I can't eat much. Maybe 1/2 cup at a time, maybe 2oz if it's meat. I struggle to get my Water in but make sure I get my Protein in.

I am 5 1/2 months out. I am down 69 pounds. I can eat anything except--believe it or not--salads. I can eat more than what I think I should be able to at this point--probably an entire cup. I have no problems getting all my fluids in now. I have slowed way down on my weight loss. I am now at about a pound a week. I don't exercise like I should, so I am gearing that up.

I am almost 5 1/2 months out and have lost 57lbs since surgery and 82lbs since pre-op. I can eat anything and eat about a cup at each meal. I have been able to get in all Protein and liquid easily since the beginning. I loose about 1.5 pounds a week now. I do exercise 1 hour 3 days a week (weight lift and cardio) but am having pain in my upper legs so doctor and chiropractor said to take last week off and I will do the same this week, did walk 2 1/2 miles today because the lack of exercise scares me. I am a pretty lax sleever and let myself eat all foods just in moderation making sure I get enough protien.

I'm noticing a increase in what I'm able to eat now and wondering if any of you have noticed a change around this time also?

I have noticed an increase as well. I measure everything. It's kind of scary.

I was sleeved on Aug 30, making me 4.5 months out... Ive lost 71 lbs... have 70 more to go to my goal....

Im eating a Protein shake for Breakfast.... tuna or chicken salad ( about 4 ounces) for lunch with some sort of green veggie ( a few bites) ...

dinner, usually I eyeball a size matching half my fist size of whatever meat I cook and 2 or 3 table spooons of a veggie...

I drink loads of Water all day...

I usally have an Isopure clear Protein Drink that I mix with Water that I sip on all day as well.... at the end of the day, I usually go to the gym and drink the last half of that Isopure ( mostly because its ice cold and I need something cool after a workout)

I usually dont have Snacks...but if I do its usually a piece of cheddar cheese

I was sleeved July 13th and my typical day looks like this:

Breakfast: Protein shake

Snack: 100 Calorie Greek Yogurt

Lunch: String cheese and a Piece of fruit or about a half cup of chili or another yogurt and the string cheese

Dinner: about 3 oz. of grilled chicken and half of a Green Giant Just for one veggie

However there are days that I can eat way more. Especially around a certain time of the month.

I am a teacher so I am having trouble getting in my fluids but I usually get in at 3 bottles of Water and about half an Isopure clear Protein. I also exercise at least 3 times a week. My minimum workout is 3 hours of Power Yoga which can burn almost 300 calories an hour.

I am losing very slowly now. I am actually scared that I won't make my ultimate goal. Although I will be satisfied about 15 lbs before what my ticker says.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
